I totally agree with Ange's view re VAR in football. I'd get rid of it except for goal line decisions. Perhaps fully automated offside is worth trying.
On the Bergvall incident ... Ange's view is debateable. A counter view is that Bergvall's tackle merited a yellow as it was dangerous play. Advantage was the right decision, but Ange stating it is only "cynical" fouls that are punished is not relevant and is not the language used in the laws of the game. I think we got lucky on that one but, as others have said, unluckly in his first yellow. And Liverpool got fewer cards than they deserved also.
Ange's view was that he couldn't understand why retrospective yellow cards were not being issued for fouls after advantage plays were given/over.
It amazes me that this law (for non dangerous play) after advantage play was unknown to managers (Slott was unaware), the media and in general only referees.
The problem with this is interpretation of this law by the referee's.
