On the Bergvall incident ... Ange's view is debateable. A counter view is that Bergvall's tackle merited a yellow as it was dangerous play. Advantage was the right decision, but Ange stating it is only "cynical" fouls that are punished is not relevant and is not the language used in the laws of the game. I think we got lucky on that one but, as others have said, unluckly in his first yellow. And Liverpool got fewer cards than they deserved also.

Ange's view was that he couldn't understand why retrospective yellow cards were not being issued for fouls after advantage plays were given/over.

It amazes me that this law (for non dangerous play) after advantage play was unknown to managers (Slott was unaware), the media and in general only referees.

The problem with this is interpretation of this law by the referee's.

Yes, but he (Ange) was also saying that PGMOL had been telling him they were only issued for cynical fouls (i.e. I take to mean that interfered with the advantage).

Whether it's Ange or PGMOL who knows. But that is factually false (and obviously so) as per the rules of the game.

A caution (first or second) should always be issued for a reckless tackle (for example). Matter of judgement as to whether Berg's was. But it's not without any merit to suggest it was.

Similarly there are many ways of leading. And there's also a reason there are vice captains. Also in terms of respects garnered from our players, opposition teams and officials, he's probably 2nd to none.

But anyways, I digress with my original post. Not the most appropriate thread to discuss this.

Watched him at close quarters was exceptional. His tracking back is far better than porro and destiny. Couple of things though he may be needs to show a bit more aggression at times. Also when he has the ball with a bit of space he can easily beat a man. What I want him to do is to keep going rather than lay it off. He’s probably our best runner with the ball. He could drive into the pen box easily.

I always wonder why when they zoom in they spend ages deciding which part of the body to measure. Surely it would be easy for them to mark a load of points and the software could determine which is the furthest forward.

Anyway this drawing the lines shit clearly isn't that accurate and takes way too long. Crazy they haven't got the semi automated yet which is much better.
