The report stated that "the majority deemed the decision as incorrect as they felt it did not meet the threshold for a yellow card," with the five members voting 3-2 against a booking.

The panel has five members, made up of three former players and/coaches, plus one representative each from the Premier League and PGMOL. The judgement is not intended to be definitive, but to provide an arms-length assessment of all major match incidents. PGMOL, and indeed the clubs, are likely to disagree with some of the results.

3-2 is far from a clear-cut assessment, and the explanation that it "did not meet the threshold for a yellow card" is vague at best. The article also calls out a number of other "missed VAR interventions" so, surprise surprise, this shit happens, unfortunately, to other clubs on many other occasions.

So they don't think the 2nd yellow was a yellow?

Preposterous! That means lacking common sense, or absurd for any scousers reading... wait they can't read... moving on.

If the argument is that the first yellow shouldn't have been a yellow, maybe the foul he committed right before being shown the first yellow should have been yellow.instead of letting it get to where one was shown for what looks like minimal contact.
My $ .02 is that the first yellow was probably given more because of repeated warnings by the Ref to reign it in which were ignored, rather than the specific foul itself.

If Liverpool do not get a replay then they'll demand the follow rules to apply for the game at Anfield:
- Spurs to play the whole game with 9 players;
- Spurs' eventual first goal will be disallowed no matter how it's scored;
- No Liverpool player will be deemed off-side during the game:
- No yellow cards for any Liverpool for repeatedly snapping at Spurs players' feet or tripping them repeatedly;
- No red cards for any Liverpool player for ankle crunching tackles;
- No added time in case Liverpool lead the game when regular time is up - and if they don't lead, then enough time will be added for them to score an eventual winner...

A few Liverpool fans on RAWK decided to complain to Talksport about Simon Jordan's comment about victim culture and Liverpool. Here is Talksport's response:

"Dear Joe,

Thank you for getting in touch about comments made by Simon Jordan on Tuesday 3 October.

As you may be aware, Simon Jordan responded to the concerns raised by you and by others during yesterday morning's episode of White & Jordan. Without setting out in full everything he said, Simon made it clear that he never intended his words to relate to Hillsborough and that the interpretation which some people have given to his words could not be further from his position in relation to that tragedy. He pointed out that he has spoken out loudly against ‘tragedy chanting’, as has his co-host Jim White.

In the discussion on Wednesday morning, Simon reiterated that his words were “specifically and explicitly about VAR and the injustices that fans think are being foisted on their clubs”. He reminded listeners that “victim” is a word he has used in many instances in the context of phrases like “victim complex”, “victim culture” and “victim mentality”, not lightly but in conjunction to a whole host of clubs and individuals, including for example, Manchester City, Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn. He expressed his disappointment and regret that, on this occasion, his words had been somehow misinterpreted as relating to Hillsborough and “the tragedy that it was”.

Towards the end of this opening monologue, Simon also said that he had reflected on his use of the word “victim” and on whether what he had said would be better expressed as “conspiracy theory mentality, because the conspiracy idea that VAR and the referees are doing things to certain teams is flawed”. He concluded by saying, “It's not conspiracy, it's incompetence, it’s professional inadequacy that’s what’s going on, maybe we should look a little deeper into the issue...but the idea that in any shape or form, in any shape or form, that I was suggesting that this is relatable to Hillsborough is beyond the pale and it's an unfortunate interpretation from those who are seeking to make it".

Simon is a thoughtful presenter who brings valued expertise and insight to the TalkSPORT audience and his words yesterday morning demonstrate the seriousness with which he has taken the concerns raised.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback, it is very much appreciated - good or bad.

I hope this response and Simon's on-air explanation addresses your concerns but if you would like to take the matter further you may contact our regulator, Ofcom, via their website www.ofcom.org.uk

Once again, thank you for getting in touch to share your concerns with us.

All my best,

Claire Telford

The first yellow was his 4th foul in 15 minutes, one of those (on Udogie I think, maybe Bissouma - it was an ugly barge off the ball with no attempt to tackle) could well have been a yellow. Pretty sure the ref was thinking "Next time..."

It seems that everyone outside Spurs has completely forgotten the notion of persistent fouling

Just when you think its not possible to hate them any more , this week has actually made them one of my most hated clubs, ever!
If I had the choice for any club in the PL to do a Leeds and never come back up It would be hard not choosing these at the minute! Never thought I could dislike another club more than Woolwich or the Chavs but damn Jurgen Kilpperty Klopp and this cunting fan base has taken my hatred of them to a whole new level! :ange-blow:

'Hate' is a very strong word. I think you probably mean 'totally despise the wretched little cunts', don't you?

No offense to the great country of England, but from ex-players to "professional pundits", I have never seen such sporting bias in my entire life than when I started watching English football. To expect an independent (LOL) panel to see things unbiased is laughable.
