Lilywhite has revealed his source to me : its an impeccable source (and not a journalist).

Academy and in effect one year pro deal. Its down to us not to screw it up now

Fantastic news.

Apparently he has trained with the first team already. Playing well beyond his years sometimes stepping up to the U 21s.

Made 2 appearances for u21's off bench totalling about 45 mins.

Also started most of Spurs UEFA Youth League (u19) matches this season, as well as becoming a first choice pick for u18's

He's certainly made his mark this season - and became a bit of a fixture last season too.

Hope he continues to be the hard working forward that he is who can score and make goals. Amazing fan interaction for his age too.

Updated Year 1 Intake (per Lilywhite Rose and self) :

GK's - Charlie Warren, Sam Archer
Defenders - Timi Adekunle, Theo Adelusi, Dante Orr, Calum Logan
Midfield - Callum Olusesi
Forwards - Ellis Lehane, Mikey Moore, Herbie James

That's 10 players we know of, so we think that we will probably be trying to sign maybe 2 - 4 youngsters from external sources.

Epic stuff about Moore.

Have high hopes for Herbie, not least because that was my Grandad’s name!

We have a great 5-6 talents now, who could all possibly make it here.

Much improved from 12-18months ago.

Yes we have a few very good footballers.

Its now down to manage them in all sorts of ways - keeping them grounded, coaching them to improve on their talents, giving them the right playing time at the right time - testing them but not over-stretching them etc

Sounds easy, but its not - as an example we won the race to sign Scott Thyer a decade ago who had looked the best player on the pitch by a landslide playing as Wales Centre Forward in an England u16 v Wales u16 fixture. All started well with him playing a few pre-season matches for Spurs u21's (as a 16 year old) and then starting to play u18's, but then less frequently. Behind the scenes apparently he often didn't turn up to train or of he did he was late, became quite disruptive and astonishingly was released after 12 months into his scholarship. He went back to Swansea his home town but after again becoming disruptive he was let go and disappeared from football completely ....... even though at the time he was being heralded as the best Welsh footballer of his generation !

It was not a good time for Spurs academy either - in the same year group Spurs had recruited Terry Dixon ...... the Irish Wayne Rooney ! Sadly he dislocated his knee early on and despite a lengthy time out it never fully recovered and his knee kept dislocating , and after a couple of years he was released. He tried coming back several times, notably with West Ham, but eventually had to settle for part time non league football where he played whenever fit (maybe 30% - 50% of games).

So its a long road from signing top talent (and many rate Mikey Moore as best E u16 for a few years) to even close to the first team,

Time to cross fingers for a few years ! And enjoy watching youth football !

Considering Bellingham, hope those who think that are right.

TBH first match U18 I saw of him he immediately leapt to top of my hopes, just the way he carries the ball and passes is a different level to his peers.

We are pleased to confirm that our Under-21s will return to Enfield Town for the traditional pre-season friendly between the sides next month.

This year’s match will take place on Tuesday 18 July, kick-off 7.30pm at Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.

Enfield Town’s home ground is located just a stone’s throw from our Training Centre and has played host to this popular and well-attended fixture every year since 2018.
