Without it being a big 'I told you so', that Ajayi goal sort of backs up what we were saying last month where Ange said we were so short of players he was having to pull players out of school while the likes of Ajayi, Hall, Akhamrich, King were available and playing well for the U21s.

This. In spades. There has been no reason to run the likes of Son, Porro, Johnson, Solanke etc. into the ground over an incredibly congested period of fixtures when we could have been giving minutes here and there to U21 players in the last 2-3 months. Really, really, really poor squad management. It is my biggest gripe about Ange.

Not playing Spence, who is arguably better than both Porro and Udogie, earlier in the season was negligent. Not including him in the EL squad at all was even worse. Especially when we included Forster whilst having 2 other home grown GKs (and Austin has subsequently proved better back up than Forster).

Ex-spurs academy Yago Santiago has picked up an ACL injury in training so is out for at least the rest of the season. Sad to see especially since he started the season so well becoming a regular starter in the Spanish 2nd tier. Wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully comes back stronger next season!

Don’t forget we were playing a team from a lot lesser league who have hardly played for 2 months. It was not a premier lge game.

More talking about over half the Europa games where we didn't name a full bench and where Ange was complaining there were no other options and we were down to schoolboys. You obviously don't have to pull players out of school for a league game on a Sunday...

He still feels a deep connection with Spurs, with his friends he grew up with who still play there. And he feels gratitude towards the coaches and staff, especially for how they helped him after he was released.

“They said that they were not going to offer me a professional contract there,” Morgan explains, “but then they helped me to find other teams to go to.”

Tottenham staff put together videos of Morgan’s highlights, his best moments both in possession and off the ball. They circulated these clips around clubs who might have use for a talented 18-year-old midfielder with a great attitude and an engine to match. There was plenty of interest from the Championship and third-tier League One, even from abroad. Tottenham helped to arrange trials for Morgan, even putting on transport to take him from his digs in Enfield, near their training ground, to Watford’s equivalent roughly a half-hour drive away every morning, for his first trial away from Spurs.

I watched QPR recently because I was curious about Morgan. That would be a good place for us to send more loanees. They are not afraid of giving young players playing time and they try to play a nice brand of football.

Still find it bizarre we did not offer him a pro contract as he had played well at CB and DM for us, although not much for us last season. and he's now blossoming at QPR slightly further forward. Yet versatile players are a manager's dream and its not as if our u21's this season are playing so well that Morgan would not have improved them,
