Stadium Squid Game Comes to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But- then why us?
Is it really just a coincidence?
Is Netflix really interested to attach their brand to our club?

1) Levy and our marketing team are up for it.

2) We don't have a stadium sponsor so individual tie ins are both possible and (to the marketing dept) desirable.

It's pretty straightforward- if you're a marketing type or bottom line type (as opposed to a normal match going Spurs fan )

Like I said I am fully Coys about the NFL and the concerts and the go karting. More the merrier.

Not sure I want my match day experience interrupted by twats promoting a Netflix show.

There's a line etc..
I'm pretty sure everyone will be able to do their normal match day. Just make sure you're in the queue for a pint and not the photo op.

But if you do make that mistake, please post the photo on here for us all to enjoy.

:levylol:

That's pretty much it, if it doesn't affect the match day experience, it's fine. The Sky Walk, F1, concerts and boxing are completely legitimate, they're not at the expense of the match day experience.

This promotional thing is probably not going to be changing most fans experience, but I fear that it could be the thin end of a wedge.

There are some areas I think that the club are not sense checking. Using a match day to promote the series seems like a baffling decision, it could be completely trivial but it feels indifferent to our fans and has no great or obvious link to Spurs, other than spurs and Netflix have a great South Korean product but that's tenuous.

But my concern is that the club endorsed products are becoming less ethical, we should never have got in bed with socios, we have no need to have a VPN or official betting partner and I'm not even sure about the efficacy of Kraken.

The club are not vetting the sponsors, they are counting the money and that's problematic.

🤦🏻‍♂️

The first season of Squid Game was watched by over 142 million households and had 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks on Netflix. It became the most-watched show on Netflix in 2021, and the most-watched program in 94 countries.

None of those cunts are going to come to the stadium to watch the game though are they?

If people are stupid enough to support us because of this marketing exercise then do we really want them as fans?

Absolutely none of this helps us win a game of football on the pitch. That’s the point.

Who knows?

Really? Why? Who cares why somebody becomes a fan?

No, the point is to grow the global brand of the club/name. Whether that is right or wrong, nobody really knows yet.

It's why we didn't have a stadium sponsor. The name Tottenham Hotspur is mentioned for all the NFL/Boxing/Gigs etc, instead of the 'Amazon Arena' or similar.

Surely everyone knows who we are by now?

We were once a football club of course.
Must admit, I'm getting less and less sure.
