Berahino's record isn't "decent" It's mediocre. I think he'd be a good back-up signing, but he's not likely to be a break-out superstar. Batshuayi on the other hand is very raw, but has the potential to be much bigger.
We don't have a good track record with buying players ending in 'o' for example paulinho, soldado, khumalo, Gilberto...etc
Will we ever learn
No, no we will not

One way to settle it:

For me they look very similar in their style of play. Difference is though, Berahino´s video was in the PL, and Batshuayi´s was in Ligue 1.
Plus Berahino and Kane have played together before.
So on that basis, Berahino for me. Not sure what makes you say Batshuayi has more potential.

He would be adequate back up to Kane, would offer us something different up top, and he could definitely link up with Kane should we decide to play 2 up top. He will already have a relationship with a number of our players from England as well, which has to be considered. We can expect him to hit the ground running and provide instant competition for places. I don't think we could have this expectation with Batshuayi.I honestly don't feel he is a safe bet. I like what I've seen, but he's not a standout. 10 goals in 3000 minutes from a striker is mediocre. Nacer Chadli delivered that playing left wing and shooting less. Why not just buy another left wing and make Nacer play striker instead? (This actually may be what we are doing)
The reason no one's gotten Lacazette yet is because the player hasn't shown a big desire to move, and the club are asking for over 40 million, which is stupid money.
After his numbers come down to earth next year he'll likely move for half that.

Hmm not sure if real Wilkins quote
It did not include the words "boy", "great lad" or "smashing"
The thing is though, Batshuayi have played under similiar circumstances under Bielsa. While Berahino have played under Pulis.
Personally, I want the right signings. I dont care if he costs 25M or 6M. Relatively speaking, the most important players in the squad cost fuck all, when you consider what we spent on Lamela, Soldado and Paulinho...
Sorry what? I heard my name, I've got an alert so if someone says his name I know
GioROBBO!!
When we used to sing his name, he loved us, we loved him

9 in 920 minutes vs 10 in 3000 minutes, or, if you want to equalize for minutes, Batshuayi scored at 300% of the rate of Berahino. Even allowing for a 50% reduction next year, that would still mean 13-14 goals vs. 10.
None of that is guaranteed, but when a 19-year old starts scoring at that kind of rate in a top-5 league, it's worth noting.
And under Pullis he has proven himself in the PL against teams who will be our opponents next year
