15m in, 60 out. We can live with that, can't we Levy?

Imo the only thing our game is missing is pace. Would love to see us get Insigne and buy Batshuayi as the Kane back-up.

That's a deliberate choice imo. Our way of building attacks aren't really geared towards the need for pacy players. Of course, if we could find someone who can what's required in our set-up, and have pace at the same time then fantastic but they'd be 50m+ players.

I see lots of people wanting Mane, which is a great example. He's a mighty fine player, but there's no way in hell, we're buying him, and it honestly baffles me that people think we should bring him into our set-up.

Another problem with players with pace is that they generally have nothing else to bring to the party, I know I am generalising but so many pacey players in the modern era, bale aside, can't cross, can't tackle, can't score and don't seem to know what to do, every 20 games they might score and that's it. Oxlaide, Walcott, Lennon, Townsend, that one at norwich who used to play for brum, sterling. I hope Clinton and son prove me wrong next season.........

Insigne is that kind of winger. Perfect for what Pochettino wants, and there are very few of them. He doesnt have this type of player at us yet, had him at Southampton in the form of Jay Rodriguez.

His allround-game is brilliant, provides both goals and assists and one of the paciest wingers in Europe. Compared to Mane he is much more consistent and is the bright spark in Italy's team.

Him on the left side with Rose would be fatal. Of course, there wouldnt be as much space on the left without Alli playing more through the middle, but enough to cause any RB in the League a problem.

I believe we could get him and there were reports about us making an offer in January. Might be realistic if we offer Napoli 35 million.

To round it off, highlights video. Not a big fan of these, but ScoutNation knows how to do them well:

Woah, we've got the smallest team in the League!!!! MADDDDDD

We'll probably need a few players for a big season next time out.

In a dream situation, Lukaku, Rodriguez, Isco (sorry Son and Chadli), Lars Bender/Javi Martinez and Joao Moutinho (8th time of asking) (bit of experience and ting)

But we'll probably end with Perez from NUFC, Wanyama SFC, McCarthy EFC.

Insigne is indeed a very good player, and I'd agree, he'd a good fit. Whether he's a better, worse or the same fit compared to Batshuayi, Lacazette, Embolo or whoever else, I don't know and will trust the people at the club to work out.

I disagree however that Insigne has pace. 98% of modern players have a very good amount of pace. Otherwise they don't make it to top level. I was speaking of playing with speed to burn, and I think those on here asking for pace in our side were as well. Insigne has good pace as much as Alli, Eriksen, Lamela and our other AMs do. Any difference is marginal. I'd argue that the reason, it seems someone like Eriksen isn't that fast, is like I argued in my previous post that we don't really set up attacks in a way where pace is what we're looking to use. Which is why players who're most effective in countering situations, like Mane, is a poor fit.

Hammers bid will only work if no one else's matches the bid, us and Juventus have CL football.

We won't but we could also buy Lacazette as well as he is a brilliant wide forward, Batshuayi however is as far as I am aware just a main striker.

This is true, but that is why the bid is so high. They know that to compete with the bigger clubs they have to pay over the odds and they can now afford to do that. It is what we will see a lot from smaller clubs now because of the money in the league. A good thing for equalizing the league in my opinion, however as we have got where we are not because of money but on merit and chipping away at breaking the stranglehold of the bigger clubs I feel we deserve success more than the likes of West Ham. Given our stadium build we are unlikely to pay massively over the odds like this unless we are certain about the player. Personally I think it is way too much, but Poch knows best. The other factor is the player, who likely wont consider West Ham and the reality that he may never play in the CL with them if he signs. So the club would prefer the bid but it may be a no go. Whatever we end up spending we just need to get the right players more than anything else.

Right player sis the main issue. I am guessing or at least I dam well hope that any extra cash generated from finishing high, CL football and the extra sponsorship cash off the back of it can be used for transfers. I doubt Levy is reckless enough to plan building a stadium on the presumption of getting CL football. Imagine we didn't and then our stadium falls away and we go bankrupt, Levy would be smarter than that.

I also suspect Poch will have said give me the players I want or no new contract. Poch is ambitious and ruthless when it comes to players, as Dembele said its a team you can easily get in to and go out of.

If we sell some players and use the extra cash generated I don't see why a net spend of £50-60 million is beyond us. Let's say we somehow get Batshuayi, Lacazette, Witsel and maybe another kid, what's that £80 million and then sell 3-4 players and make £30 million back.

Given the new TV deal, CL football, massive sponsorship and a manager ambitious enough to keep going for top prizes I don't think that would be out of the question. It's turn our apparently we bid £31 million for Martial last summer and that was prior to all this new cash.
The only alternative is we take all the vast amounts of new cash and use it to pay off the stadium quicker than we would have been able to before. Problem with that is if we don't support Poch other teams may catch up or Poch may get pissed off he isn't being supported enough and he leaves.

I understand Levy being cautious with a manager like Sherwood who might blow the money on any old crap but we have a plan now.

Yeah, I think Levy can see that having another good season is very important because right now he is working out sponsorship deals for the new stadium and the reality is that if we are in the CL, if we are challenging for the title, then he can get more money. Much more money. So spending this summer really makes sense as a good finish next season might mean a significantly different deal to if we finish lower. We have a great opportunity here with the extra income and the ability to attract players and the stadium is at the point now where it plays a factor, with new signings highly likely to end up playing in that new stadium when it opens.

Lacazette with a hattrick tonight in a 6-1 win over Monaco and Batshauyi has scored the potential winner for Marseille too.

So would you drop Alli or Eriksen for this potentially fatal left side?
