And I only know Wayne Knight as Newman

C'mon, what about Don in 3rd Rock?

Son scored 4 goals and didn't really impose himself in many games. Like for like is Janssen.

Bentaleb barely kicked a ball, and with Mason together you can say like for like is Wanyama.

Chadli is the only odd one out, but he was a frequent cameo, imo. I like Chadli, but what I'm saying is that we have other players who can play the same role - including appearances by Edwards, Onomah, Winks etc.

It's not like we're talking about Walker, Dier, Alli, Lamela and Kane.

Imagine letting Son, Mason, Benteleb and Chadli go and only bringing Nkodou in...where would people think we will finish?

Won't make to much of a difference, none are first team and despite the lack of goals I though Onomah was better in terms of actual play than most of them. Only guy that might shine when gone because of talent is Bentaleb which is why I hope we sell him abroad.

Personally feel the likes of Winks and Edwards have a far higher ceiling than above mentioned.

Son got the winner at Watford, Mason got the winner at Sunderland. There is 4 points won right there.

What ever goals they score doesn't make up for how when they are on the pitch we lose control of the game. When Dembele wasn't playing last season we often went to pot.

The issue most people have with the likes of certain players, Chaldi in particularly is that other than the odd goal they do little else. We are a pressing team and are only as strong as our weakest link.

Son and Mason could score 10 goals a piece and we still overall wouldn't be as good as having Dembele and Lamela in the team come end of season. We need more in depth quality.

SAINTS CLOSE TO BOUFAL

Sky sources have told us Southampton are close to agreeing a fee for Lille's attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal.

The money being discussed is in excess of £20m, which would be a club record with Watford also interested in the player.

I know there has been a lot posted about his attitude, but the skill is very attractive. He certainly possesses the ability to break down people and cause trouble in a way that we yearn for on the wings. £17-20 million is not a ton of money in the current market. I feel like this could be the type of transfer where everyone is asking why the "big clubs" didn't bite a couple of years from now.

Debacle might be the wrong term, but they desperately fought to keep Toby and claimed they had first right as part of the loan deal. I don't think they are in a hurry to do business with us.
He wasn't even their player.

A lot gets overplayed by the press, they love to project an anti-feeling between clubs when their isn't one. Poch was invited personally by Southampton to a testimonial game when the season finished, he was photographed with members of Southampton board all smiles, drinks & prawn sandwich's. It's football.

Neither is an alternative to Dembele though, nor Lamela really. Why wouldn't we keep all 4?

Are you trying to tell me that everything I read in the press during the transfer window isn't true?
