This Zaha shit is aggravating. If he was truly a target, why would we wait so late to make a bid. Of course they are going to refuse all offers this late, as they won't be able to find a replacement. Also starting at £12 million, when Bolasie went for over double that is not how you get business done in the last week of the window.

Levy and Poch better have something else cooking. I can't believe we weren't in on Boufal at £20M, or even Burke at £15M. If we lose out on N'Koudou and don't have further replacements, this board is going to go crazy. I don't see why you move Chadli, unless something else is all but done. He is a serviceable player and has produced, despite his questionable ethic. These next couple of days are going to be nervy for sure.

Spending for the sake of it doesn't make sense. Agree we need players in, but still time left.

You're missing the point.
It doesn't matter what they did last summer because they were not in a position where they thought they could win the league at that time. Fast forward a year...they've won the league and are in the CL league and are trying to really push on so they can at least do all they can to give themselves the opportunity to do something special again.
When has Levy ever done that? when have you every thought to yourself "oh i'm very very happy with our dealings and we can really push on now?" it's rarely happens because Levy refuses to really give it ago. Not only does he not give it a go but he takes the absolute piss with low ball bids just before the window is closing to make it seem like he's tried.

Helll even last season he did it with Berahino and left the manager horribly exposed with only 1 true striker in the squad. Yes it worked out (thank fuck Kane didn't get injured) but can you imagine any other chairman doing that? 1 striker going into the season?

If we were out signing Musa and mendy people would be complaining they'd never heard of these punters and we're not showing requisite ambition...

When we signed some of the best players from "Football Manager" (ironic, but hey) for the asking prices and little fuss, it seemed like a dream come true.

Mind you we did the same with Townsend. Bizarre way of doung things if we sign only N'Koudou.
