This is true, but which other top six side is building a new stadium? Well respected my arse. They're just stating the obvious. Pundits and fans expect us to run before we can walk. In some respects I wish we had not had our recent success and it came instead after the new stadium was built. Competing at the top has only increased fan expectation ten fold. We won't be in a position to pay mega bucks for probably three to four seasons at minimum. We are punching above our weight right now. We are a long term project and we must be prepared to see peaks and troughs in the short term when it comes to the level at which we compete. Over the long term we have steadily improved and that will continue. There will come a time when we can pay the bigger salaries and transfer fees and truly compete, but fans need to be reasonable and understand that we just aren't there yet.A lot of well respected people in the game are suggesting our outmoded pay structure needs to be changed to allow us to push on. Souness just the other day was saying we can't keep on expecting to compete on the cheap. Again, with respect mate, I trust the considered thoughts of well respected ex pro's than the words of a ranting maniac like you.
