Interesting article.

Does Mr. Bate know something we don't about Danny's recovery though? The article says he is expected to be playing in the first game of the season. Is this news?
It's a great article. I agree with almost all of it, except our RB option.

Thought exactly the same, from the info made available to us, limited and old, i'm going on the premises that he has that wrong (whist secretly crossing my fingers that he has some new info).

Expectation puts pressure to achieve success, Conte and Maureen doing their part to put pressure on our lads and management to show what they are made of, and this can end only in one way.
Happy days ahead.

This is a simple as I can put it:

  • To improve our squad we need players of equal/better ability than our current starting 11.

  • Players of that standard come with huge price tags and 100K+++ wages.

  • We don't and can't afford to pay the whole squad those types of wages.
Therefore finding the right player(s) to bring in is an extremely difficult task in our unique position.

We are neither a Chelsea / city / Utd where money is no concern nor are we a West Ham who might be able to spend a big fee and big wages on 1 player without having to do the same for the existing players.

We are operating in a very unique space.

10% sell-on for Siggurdsson. The Times.

Nice! So Everton will indirectly pay part of Barkley's transfer to us then. Explains why Koeman practically begged for others to step in! :dembelelol:

Hahahaha are you sure you're Spurs?

Any fucking chance you have to have a dig you take it.
Who the fuck are you.
Another one who thinks it's big and smart to question other supporters allegiance. Can you not understand that its possible to have a dig at our transfer policy or the way the club is run without being less of a fan. There are thousands of fans like you who have unbendable faith in what's happening and thousands of fans like me who don't. But we're all fans of the same football club.

Clubs selling for high fees isn't the problem. If you've got some idiot stupid or desperate enough to pay 50m for a RB then u take it. Especially when ur building a stadium.
I agree you take all the fucking money you can if you want to sell the player. But I think it's a bit rich to then complain about the crazy transfer fees being quoted for other players you may or may not be interested in. That's all. Something about having your cake and eating it?

I question your support because all you ever do is fucking moan. I don't have "unbending faith". Luckily there aren't too many people like you, what a dull world that would be.

"If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he's strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left.
"

Morata must be feeling sh1t today.

If we don't sell any more of our top players for obscene amounts of money, like Walker then you may have a point. But we can't expect the media to lavish us with praise for our moral approach if ,on the one hand were happy to extract these extortionate transfer fees from others without re-investing some of it in transfer fees ourselves.
Walker wanted to leave, why keep someone that doesn't want to be here.

An interesting question may be to ask yourself "of all the big money signings made by the top teams this summer, bar KW, which ones would get into our top 11?", if your answer is "cunt", maybe wait until you're sober before trying again.

If Spurs win the title with sensible transactions, developing talent and managerial brilliance, then it makes the rest of the big boys and media look like incompetent morons, so expect a lot of the same horseshit.

Levy can go on all he likes about transfer fees not being sustainable, and he may well be right, but if we're looking at our squad, and not paying top dollar in wages, then the only way it will be sustainable is if we are successful.

Successful as in winning things mainly. Otherwise the vultures will surely circle and start to pick off Dele, Toby, Dier, Kane even. Yes, and Pochettino. From there we're not far off looking at posts about getting behind Alan Pardew and wondering whether Tashan Oakley-Boothe can do a job up top.

I doubt that the new stadium is that much of a tie when puch comes to shove, neither is finishing 2nd and 3rd in and of itself

Good post.
Its all well and good praising what Levy has said but if we stagnate we will lose players like Alli and Kane and will start from scratch again. It's all about getting the right balance.

And with this final comment you prove you're exactly what I have said you are. You don't know how much and what is and isn't reasonable. You just sit there and cry "not good enough" - and isn't it convenient that you have left yourself enough ambiguity that if we did do more, you'd still have a way of whinging if it wasn't enough? Case in point, I normally don't put much stock in "ITK", but this is doing the rounds at the moment....

"Who: Ali Z
When: 26 July
Where: Coys

We will bring in 3 maybe 4 before the end of the window.

Cheers Ali

Guy replied

"I do hope we can get some in. I am a little bit worried we won't be able to get anyone"

To which Ali said;

So am I but been told we just waiting for the madness to die down, as i been told replacement rb , a ch if wimmer goes, Barkley and 1 more attacking player prob right sided."

Now, if that came to pass, would that be enough for you? Or would the players need to be of a certain value or be signed by a particular date? Would they need to be of a certain calibre (like an established international for instance)? What will you accept?
Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive Are you going to afford me the courtesy of a response to this post?

A while back we were the villans for threatening LCFC's "Fairytale title," then derided for bottling the league and managing to come third in the proverbial two horse race. At times we have been labelled a dirty team and now the club lacks ambition by refusing to sell our best players and spend money we haven't got.

Someone once said if the opposition is booing you, you must be doing something right.
