Sorry, that's a cop out....

You want something done (i.e. leave the business talk out of it), but you can't explain how.

(I know people won't like it and say it's extremity for extremities sake, but the logical conclusion to your stance is us all sitting round wondering why we haven't signed Messi....

Alternatively, may as well close this thread and start one where we just play toy soldiers, devising endless formations with our current squad.)
OK. Put it this way. We need to buy 2 or 3 players, desperately. That should clear my intention. And as to the business angle, without a look at the books, there's no way to know what we have to spend but our CL run must have brought in a fairly sizeable revenue just by itself

So the quotes from Aulas were slightly out of context earlier. This is his exact quote on Ndombele leaving:

"In terms of the chronology, before accepting the transfer of Ferland Mendy to Madrid, we signed the young international U17 Belgian, Heritier Deyonge, from PSV Eindhoven. What I can say to you is if you see a very good box-to-box midfield youngster arrive, in the coming days, then there will be a chance that Tanguy Ndombele leaves, but for the moment, we have not received offers of the level that we feel is a just price."

Make of it what you will, but sounds to me like he wants his replacement in first.

What are you talking about! Money should be available. 3 self imposed transfer window bans, CL run, Top 4 again PLUS 25,000 match days fans revenue increase. It's insane to say there is no transfer kitty in the excess of £50m...

Why don't we just hijack the very good young box to box midfielder Lyon are chasing and probably save us 30 mill in the process

That's not what I said. I pointed out that it's fruitless speculating about this or that player's pricing if you don't know what's in the books. We have no idea of the budget that they have to work with.

What does it say about Scouting when N'Dombele can be purchased in 2018 for 7 million and now he’s claimed to be worth almost ten times as much ?

Logic makes a mockery of the claim we could
not find options last summer.
Think (as someone posted a few pages back) he was a season loan from Amiens with an option to buy for £7million. Don't think he would have been as cheap as that last summer without a pre-agreed price.

In the event we get our targets and fail to win anything, will anyone have the balls to question Poch?
Or will all the signings suddenly be shit and signed above his head?
For me it'll be, "well that's what happens, you win some you lose some."

Doesn't mean they won't come good the following season though.

Its all part of the building process, not necessarily instant success.
