Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For me it means it'll be painful because he's got to sell players who he trusts and likes, but aren't good enough for the club.. Trippier, Wanyama, Llorente. It'll be painful because he'll bring in new players he needs to gain the trust of, as well as have them learn to trust him.

Of course it'll be painful for Levy, he'd try and haggle on a Boots meal deal.

Yeh there is the human side, it’s why I never hate anyone who puts our shirt on. If a player gives 110% and isn’t good enough we have to sell but I’ll never dislike a player who gave his all.

It can’t be easy for Poch to bring the likes of Trippier or Waynama into a room and say sorry you have to go.

Lack of spending in the last 2 transfer windows plus the power of spending of shitty and liverpoo made the gap much bigger. The EPL table does not lie, it is 21 points as we speak.
liverpoo over took us by miles compared to last season.
Even Woolwich's spending narrowed the gap on us, worry.
Facts.

Making the CL (if we do) > than League position - that's what Liverpool fans told me last year.

Unless there's a pot to show for it, league finishing position trumps all for me.

It's our bread & butter.
My opinion is that it's not black and white. Depends on the league position (and by what magnitude).

Personally, 3rd and 4th are damn near interchangeable and I think making it to a CL final in addition to finishing 4th is preferable to 3rd (definitely makes more money and boosts your UEFA coefficient).

As for this season, I absolutely hope they get bashed with it if we got to the final and they fall just short of the league title. The caveat to that, however, is just how much ground they've put between us and them in 2nd. Then again, our injuries etc give us some mitigating factors this season.

Funnily enough, a deep CL push is exactly what our club needed right now as it'll do wonders for our profile and will no doubt add value to the naming rights deal being sorted.

Would anyone reject the idea of Bale on a one year loan deal?
To be honest, I wouldn't want it. Building a house on sand rather than rock, and all that.

Poch clearly signalling an overhaul in the summer and I'd much rather see him build a team with promising youth who spend the year getting familiar with one another. The addition of an (injury prone) Bale who then gets ripped out of the squad within a year doesn't breed long term success.

I would, however, want it if ENIC seriously fuck up the transfer window and we find ourselves with trousers round our ankles holding our dicks with no other alternative.

We need to fill holes and buy talent for the future. Sessegnon would play for us but would be more for the future. Wan Bissaka and Tielemans would both significantly upgrade us now and are both 21 years old. They should be the priority signings.

That said, with Fulham getting relegated it makes sense to wrap up sessegnon quickly if possible.

Rabiot is still going to be available on a free ... he's only 24 and despite 'media' comment that he was signed up for Barcelona that is simply not true. Barca may be interested but no deal is done. Having been banished to the reserves since December, after refusing to sign a contract, he's perfect material for a Poch rehabilitation job. He would want a huge salary but that could be partly covered with a staggered signing on fee, 10m signing on fee paid over five years, plus 150k a month in salary.

He can play Central or Defensive midfield, so add Rabiot (24) David Brooks (21) and Jack Grealish (23) and that's Eriksen covered ... probably get enough for Eriksen to cover the transfer costs for all three, however it will add significantly to the wages.

But Eriksen takes up one place, that’s three.
