Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I love Winks, and want him as an integral part of the team, but Tielemans offers more of a goal threat as well.

We need the depth. City can rest De Bruyne, David Silva and Fernandinho and bring in Gundogan, Bernardo and Foden. Liverpool have Fabinho, Keita, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Chamberlain.

Last year it was a massive problem for us, seems like we are learning from that.

I agree and I also think that we have to realise winks is not going to be fit for a full season, all the more reason to get all 3 of them in when Eriksen departs.

Levy knows he’s on a tightrope with the fans (outlay by fans v outlay by club), he also knows, or at least he should know that he’s on thin fucking ice with Pochettino. So this might be his last summer to keep both onboard, and the only way to do that is to invest, and invest accordingly in line with the market and no messing about with 5 mill here or 5 mill there, just get it done.......

I for one, have always backed Levy, I get what he’s done, and I get how he’s done it, or more importantly I know how he has had to do it.
But it’s now done, the fans have been patient, they have understood, but as we know only too well, football has a short memory, and all that has went beforehand will count for nothing if Levy doesn’t finish the job, and his window to finish the job is getting smaller and smaller by the day.

C’non Levy, don’t let your legacy end with a whimper, dig deep and show us all that this project was worth the wait!!

Levy has just invested a billion in the stadium, training ground etc.

Only way he gets the money back is by large crowds at nwhl and money from a decent run in CL.

And the only way to get those is to invest in the squad - might not be as much as you want but let's say £50m to £100m plus sales proceeds to get in say ,3 or 4 first team level players and maybe a youth r two (eg Sessegnon ). Plus keep many of the existing squad.

When you break it down;

Wanyama - is he good enough?
Dier - Should be a centre half, but is good depth.
Dele - much more suited to a second striker position.
Eriksen - Wasted when in a deeper position, plus question marks over his future.

That leaves us Winks, Sissoko and potentially NDombele as our only natural centre mids. We need one more on top of that, whether that Tielemans, Van de Beek, Bentaleb or Lo Celso.

Onomah isn’t counted as he needs to be sold. Skipp needs more time.

So many financial experts on here that know all about simply 'slapping another 5-20 million in to get it done'.

I'm glad these sorts aren't running the club.

Bentelab and N'dombele(please God)coming in means we will off load Dier imo. No way our we gonna keep N'dombele, Bentelab, Winks, Sissoko and Dier all happy.

Either Skipp is trusted as fifth choice or we keep Wanyama as 5th choice and let him know he will get limited minutes which he might not mind due to his injury history.

I don't see why we couldn't.

We may not be able to compete with the two teams, we're trying trying to catch up to, in terms of fees and wages just yet, but we should be able to in terms of demanding that players are part of a big squad. And if they don't play, they need to up their game. That's the talk Poch has always done, and now that he's started talking of becoming more ambitious in the market, it also should apply to squad depth as well, and Poch should not just talk the talk, but walk it in terms of proving, he can manage a full squad, where everyone has top quality and wants to play all the time, while not doing so.

City have Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne, David Silva, Delph, Zinchenko, and Foden, so 5-7 depending on how many you'd consider having engine room as their primary position, while Pool have Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Having five 6's and 8's in a 25-man squad isn't at all unreasonable.

I just want to categorically state that I have so far not watched a single N’dombele or LoCelso YouTube highlight video through fear of Jinxing it.

Even though you bastards kept tempting me in this thread.

If either of them are signed you will all have me to thank:pochbye:
