Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Notice from A&C over on Spurs Community.

Recently and more and more often, we're having to deal with people leaving multiple spam ratings in either a tit-for-tat ratings war or just plain vindictive and childish leaving of multiple spam ratings.

The mods have all got better things to do than deal with these petty games, it's tiresome, needless and it's getting out of hand now.

From now on, anyone indulging themselves in this childish behaviour will find themselves banned from SC until at least the transfer window has closed, if not permanently.

Giving supposed ITK a spam rating is why I've been booted off there 3 or 4 times! 😂

When I say current model I mean the model we have operated under so far to this point, let's not be pedantic mate, the model, or "project" that Poch wishes to change in order for us to progress further.
And you don't know if we have changed the project or model, that's the point.

you clearly want all the players stop going on about business...

(its annoying when someone keeps on misinterpretation your points isn't it).

Not sure how much truth there is to this but it basically says that Poch has telephoned Lo Celso to explain that £40m is all we can offer right now, until we sell players, possibly Eriksen.

Poch apparently also said to Celso that Spurs ‘don’t have much money to go to market’ but that will change if Eriksen gets sold.

Probably just bullshit but thought I would share anyway.

Well some people think we will do a leeds if we "spend above our means" anyway so It will probably be music to their ears.

Even though these same people want us to win trophies but offer no alternative whatsoever to "spending above our means" in order to achieve that goal, that's the thing that makes me laugh.

I just want to understand at what point did some of our fanbase start caring more about business than they do about football? It's like they care more about "doing it the right way" (whilst ignoring we just spent over a billion on a stadium which means that we are hardly the underdogs that people make us out to be) than they do about actually seeing us achieve anything in their lifetimes, they seem to think that if we spend money on players we will go broke, as if that's even possible in this day and age with a premier league club, we would get bought out long before that ever happened.

I can't imagine what it's like living every single day worrying about the finances of a football club worth billions and "doing things the right way" rather than actually giving a shit about what's important, like you know, watching our club win things.

Each to their own I suppose, I get it, some don't want us to "buy success" well when we inevitably get purchased by someone who does buy us success those supporters are free to go and support a club that wins fuck all for the rest of their lives whilst the rest of us can enjoy watching the club we love win things "the wrong way."

I used to give a shit about how things were won but after watching us get into a CL final and come so close I had an awakening, this is what I want our club to experience on a regular basis and frankly, I don't give a toss how we do it, after waiting 30+ years and nearly 12 years without a trophy I think plenty of us have shown enough patience.
Doing it the right way is pure bullshit and moral circle-jerking by people who wank over xG stats. Levy's salary suggests we're a top tier club - so let's act accordingly. We've won fuck all for the last 5 years doing it the right way with our best squad in a generation. Even Wenger in his worst years won more, fucken Leicester, Liverpool, etc. There are still fans on here trying to spin that into positives which is nothing short of embarrassing. The same ones who believe we have a better team and Liverpool and Chavs

I am making my assessment of our transfer operations based on the only factual evidence I have available, I am not going to base what we might do on optimism alone, that's ridiculous.

I haven't misrepresented anything either, I said some people care more about how much we are spending on players than they do about signing them, that much is pretty damn evident from anyone who has read the last 20 pages of this thread.

It's also true, that someone like myself, couldn't give a toss what we spend on a player as long as we get the players our manager wants, that doesn't mean I think we should spend £500m every window either, it just means I think we should get our manager the targets he wants.

:angryscouser:
My point is that if you have watched Foyth you would know that he is a class kid who obviously will make the grade, so why doubt that he will?
Get on board and back all our players, except the ones we sell!
I do back our players he has the tools to go all the way, he is currently rash and his decision making is not the best. Depending on what happens next will mean going to the very top or not, if you don't think that's the situation its up to you (you're wrong but its your opinion).

None maybe?

No one cares about how much money we spend, they back what the club decides we can afford its pretty damn evident that's the case and your are chosing to ignore this.

Its clear you want to spend £500M every transfer window and bankrupt us, I cant understand why someone would want to see us go bankrupt (see its very easy to misrepresent people if you decide to ignore what they say)

Soooo papers are tapping phones and listening to conversations. Can’t say I’m surprised

Even in the 90's we had big money failures. Chris Armstrong cost 5 mill which at the time was a lot of money when you consider Arse signed Bergkamp for 7 mill.

Les Ferdinand 6 mill wasted. Rebrov 11 mill down the drain. Ramon Vega was 6 mill pissed up the wall

Ginola and Klinsmann cost 2 mill each iirc. Bargains
Sugar time!! After watching the apprentice you can understand our actions in the 90's a lot better, he is a slightly higher class Gold and Sullivan.

he reportedly walked into training one day. Pointed at Nicky Barnby asking "Who's that?", he then said well Middlesborough have offered £6.75m so i'm selling him. Broke up a great partnership with Teddy.

some are lucky to have not been around in these dark days... we've come a long way boys.
