Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Get a feeling in my bones, we will sign Sessegnon, Lo Celso & Dybala (Dybala on Loan to perm if Eriksen isn't sold).

Yeah, but your tissue pH might be off so not sure how badly your bones are affected and whether we should trust them.

If Eriksen leaves, which seems pretty evident, then clearly Dybala does fit that role...
...and then we are back to playing with a 10 (who doesn't like playing RW). So no new chapter then? No tactical evolution? And again playing with a 10 with no real #6 for solidity? And don't tell me Ndombele can play the 6, he can't. And one would hope the 'new chapter' meant we had players in their best positions and all the holes that caused consternation last season would be plugged this season.

Some folks would just rather a complete team where each position has a player that can be counted on. Unfortunately we have some areas that need bolstering and Dybala doesn't fit into any of those positions. But it makes some folks feel good to be linked with a player they have seen in highlights with no regard to how successful that will be.

Dybala is a busted flush that Juve are trying to offload. It's been them pushing the transfer not us, not him. PSG seems the latest target. He's a PSG type player. "A name". And he can go there and play in cruise mode for league games and score a few goals and do corny celebrations, then get shown up in the CL. He's not cut out for the PL and doesn't seem to have the motivation to come here and try to prove a point - he seems happy to stay at Juventus even though they don't want him anymore.

If we sign him, I'd get onboard with it, but I'm pleased we don't seem to be doing so. I'd rather the transfer funds we have go on addressing the right back situation.

I’m not craving it. I don’t want us to become another team that tries to buy the championship: I like that we’re organic, and work hard, and don’t pay stupid (even more stupid) salaries, and do stand up and say ‘no, modern football is f**ked by the money-men (and women)’ and we won’t play that stupid game that protects the status quo of the rich, richer and the poor, poorer.

The fact that there is even such a thing as image rights, tells you all you need to know.

(On holiday, no internet unless I sneak to the top of the path- bit grumpy not able to follow transfers).
Fair do’s - I don’t pretend to speak for everyone if that’s the impression I gave.

But I don’t think signing Dybala alone automatically makes us a money-fuelled billionaire’s plaything club: he would represent a marquee signing that makes people reading the tabloids while eating their cornflakes go ‘golly gosh’.

Just like when we signed Gazza, Lineker from Barca or Klinsmann.
