"Repeatedly"?????
That's such horseshit.... You really haven't.
Outside of Son & Kane (assuming you like them); do you rate any of our players?
Serge, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Lucas, Bergwijn, GLC, Ndombele, Gedson have all been cussed by you for one reason or another.... Much like the manager and the owners..... Hart & PEH both received a fat "meh".... You want Rose gone.... Doesn't leave many...
Toby? Hugo? Gazzaniga? Sessengon?
Be a cliche and call me a happy clapper if you wish; regardless, there are plenty of balanced posters here.... But you sir however are NOT one of them.
When has GLC been cussed by me? I love the player and if anything likely overrate him. After Kane he is the player I would least like to see leave the club. Also would like to know when I have cussed Sanchez or Bergwijn? I think Sanchez is best as the #2 CB which I hardly think is a big criticism.
Repeatedly is true. Feel free to search all my posts about GLC, might be easy to search out The Hood's post in game threads and my response to them.
Often when I am discussing a player like Dier who I have criticized it is in the context of wanting Toby and Sanchez to play ahead of him. That is praising the players we have on the squad who I think are better, but for some who are so focused on my supposed hatred only look at it as criticizing Dier not that I rate the other two Spurs players.
I have often defended Kane when people discuss bringing in someone to challenge him or the ridiculous notion that we are hurt because he needs to be "gifted" a spot.
When discussing Moura my main point has always been that I want Bergwijn playing over him because he is a better player, again this gets spun to me being negative about Moura rather than me rating Bergwijn.
I have done this before so I will try to be quick about it. I think that Kane, Son, GLC, Toby, Sanchez and Lloris are the only sure fire Top 4/CL level starters we have. I think Bergwijn is close and fine with him being there as well. I am unsure about Tanguy because we have not seen enough. I have not been impressed but will defer to others that saw him more in France that say he has world class talent and put him in the undecided camp. I think he is too much trouble and has shown too often in the past that he is unwilling to put the work in but if he is as good as people say he is I don't see us likely to bring in a player of that level if we let him go.
As for the others- I know shocking that I don't like Aurier and Sissoko, must be the only Spurs fan that doesn't rate them. Likewise, its crazy that every other Spurs fan is gaga over the PEH and Hart signings. I mean no chance those signings have been met with mixed results and people saying similar things, what a crazy outlier I am on those two things.
If Winks is on the bench and a Captain/top player for EL/Cup games I love that player and that role for him. I love the fact that he is so passionate about the club and loves to be here. I actually hate that he has been forced into a starting role that doesn't suit him and then overrated by the fan base so that it seems that I hate him. He is actually one of my favorite players. However, there is no way he should be in a starting role for us. He is not good enough. He is slow with the ball and is unwilling or unable to make decisive passes we need. I will not ignore that just because I like him.
Dier is not a good CB, that is the truth. He has poor defensive awareness, is not a good passer of the ball, is not fast enough to make up for his poor reads and is too willing to make rash challenges after his poor defensive reads. I have no problem criticizing him and don't think that makes me less of a fan.
Gedson, meh. Not sure what should be said about him. He hasn't done much is his limited time here to have anyone be all that positive about him. He was average in the game against Ipswich Town reserves and I don't see any reason to get excited about him at all. I hope this year he is more comfortable and shows us something but I am not sure why anyone would feel anything more than apathy for him based on his time here.
I think coming in to the site after a season like we just had was likely a poor time for me because I feel no need to be a homer when it comes to my teams. I don't see the reason for not calling out clear flaws in the team and the players.
i should have joined last January when I was so positive about where we were going and blindly by how much fun it was to follow this team. Hell, even in the summer I was still blinded enough to think we would cruise to 3rd and ignored all the clear signs. Had I joined then people would be whining about what I Spurs cheerleader I was and that would be the narrative people use to frame my posts, rather than this BS negative narrative that people try to create.
