I'm fuming we signed him.
Let's give him a chance. He's not what we wanted/dreamed of, but at the same time I think he's what we needed ie a fighter a la Mousa. We've got plenty other guys to do the fancy flair stuff, but when it gets tough, you need a PEH. Maybe he's gonna be a Scotty P type player for us. I didn't want Parks in the slightest when we got him...ended up adoring him. Was never sexy but he sure had the wettest shirt each game. That's what PEH can do for us

I love this forum. We have cried out for a good defensive midfielder for a couple of seasons now and we sign Hojberg who was apparently the managers choice but since his signing various members slag off Hojberg and want a different defensive midfielder because he is not good enough/not who they wanted.

Most reasonable people can accept that he may not be the best in the world but they will give him a chance whilst also realising that he will not produce world beating displays every single game but will hopefully eventually adapt to his teamates and style of play whilst doing the job the manager wants (as he seems to be doing).

Still some though who cannot get behind a player their team has signed whilst also advocating new players for all positions who they have signed on a computer game. :mourfinger:
If Jose wanted him then that's good enough for me as I'm happy to admit he knows more about footballers than me.
Well said. I thought he had a good game last night and I can see he's going to be a big player for us.

Zero games at CB last year according to:

LB:

CB:

Or 18/19:

LB:

CB:

Not sure I'd be keen to build a back-line around a 28 y/o who's not a specialist CB..... Still looking at 25-30m too (see prev. about risk vs price).
Aye fair enough then, I read in mags (So Foot) that he'd played at CB, didn't do any double-checking like you did. Nice one

Well if Dele is apparently linked to PSG and PSG have a sell on clause for Eduardo with Celtic and Celtic want Sess on loan surely that is Levy territory to make a deal out of.

I am not fuming, but have been vocal since the rumor came in that he is not what we need unless he is a direct replacement for Winks, which he is clearly not. The Sangare rumor had me a bit more optimistic with PEH and Sangare in the CM2.
There is a guy playing for Brest. His name is Ibrahima Diallo. I encourage you to watch him play. Athletic as fuck, can actually play football, and destroy.

Seems the current critique is "he's good at breaking up play, but not creative enough".... :pochunimpressed:
You sound like a smart dude, but surely you can't disagree with that statement? It doesn't make Hoj a bad player, he's actually solid at what he does, but he's just not that type of creative wiz a la Eriksen

If you gonna sign a Diallo from France, may as well try & get PSG's Diallo. He's a LCB who can also play LB, former Borussia player, experience of big games, was actually pretty decent before he joined psg where's he's waxed their bench. Psg need to sell 60m worth of players due to ffp and I reckon they'd let him go for 20 tops. He'd feel reinvigorated at Spurs and could prove a shrewd signing now Skriniar is off the table

I don't disagree with the statement per say, but it should be a question of 'can he do what he was bought to do?'..... It's flawed to be holding him to an alternative criteria now we've got him through the door.

Did we buy him to be creative? I very much doubt it.

I must admit, I don't think I've ever seen Diallo have a good game.

Foyth represents a brilliant purchase or loan for a club a tier or two below us in my view. Not had a big chance really, some weaknesses but also some obvious ability and a high potential ceiling which those sorts of clubs cant often buy. It was us who bought him and we’re a big club, PSG were also interested so he is at that level in terms of potential. Surely someone will pay for the chance.

sess also bags of potential but not clear his level and we will want our money back so he looks somewhat pricey. Harder to shift.

Rose past his best and a potential pain to work with. Hopefully we can at least loan him out yo get him away from our squad.

I suspect Foyth would do better in Spain, France or Italy - a more technical and slower paced league. Really not sure he could compete in PL and at age 22 not sure he would develop the physicality needed. So even if loaned out doubt if he will be back.

Sessegnon's real issue is where he will play. Happy if he goes to to Celtic and plays LB for a year. Think we vastly over payed, but maybe he'll come back looking like a decent LB.

Rose I fear is not attractive to other clubs. Think we may end up having to pay off his contract sometime before Christmas as virtually no rumours of loans that I've heard.
