After all that, you're not happy if he replaces Aurier, that means he's really shit then.
I’m kind of in this camp, just because I am resigned to the fact we are signing him. He makes a lot of tackles and ball recoveries and is better on the ball then sissoko.
We have no credible links to any other DM in Europe which is depressing. There are obviously lots of better options out there but none of them seem to have been noticed by our scouts.
Still holding out for one of those stealth deals that happen last minute kind of like Bergwijn. I’m surprised given the fact our chief scout is meant to be an expert on the french league that we aren’t linked with anyone better equipped but I guess if we are set on Højbjerg I will just have to support him and hope he elevated his game when surrounded by better players.
In: Meghaeles (CB/ LB option £26m), Kim-Min Jae (CB/ RB option £21.5m), Hojbjerg (DM/ CM option £17.5m), Milik (FWD option £35m) would cost a rumoured c£100m or so, maybe up to £110m who knows.
This would in theory mean our need for an out and out LB & RB be less than it seems if both Meghaeles and Kim are able to offer ball playing options from both the centre as well as out wide.
Ship out Vorm (Free), Walker-Peters (£7.5m), Foyth (£12.5m), Vertonghen (Free), Rose (£10m) and give players like Cirkin, Parrott, White, Skipp, Bennett, Clarke & Etete loans away from the club at an estimated fee of let’s say just £750k each or whatever a loan fee sim for a season these days and you’re looking at a further £5m or so. £35m in.
For a £65m total outlay we could have a team looking like:
Lloris, Gazzaniga, Austin,
Aurier, Kim-Min Jae, Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga, Meghaeles, Davies
Hojbjerg, Winks, Sissoko, Gedson, Ndombele, Lo Celso
Dele, Lucas, Son, Lamela, Bergwijn, Sessegnon
Kane, Milik
Looks a lot stronger if the rumours are true, it would be a shame if we miss out on someone like Eze this window though, although I fancy he was more on Pochs, radar than the clubs/ Mourinho’s etc. £50m-£65m seems decent enough to add to any outgoings made in order for us to collectively have a chance to improve.

I would have hoped that Mourinho with his contacts and experience would help source someone who is a better fit.
I first of all can't see Levy outlaying 100 million without selling players first, I also can't see him spending 35 million on a 2nd striker. Rose is a free agent, we won't get 10 million for him.

£100m out and £35m in means a total outlay of £65m, maybe less if Milik is on our radar and we can get him for less who knows. We also have a 1 year option on Rose so if triggered we’d be able to get a fee for him.
I think the only out of contract players we have going into the summer are Vorm and Jan pal.
Kim Min Jae- 10 mill, Hojbjerg - 10 mill. That's 18 mill saved
Injury prone Milik-20 mill. Another 15 mill saved
I meant Rose will be a free agent next summer, I hope we don't trigger that option because he's already indicated his intention to leave. Just get him off the books.

Rose has said he will run his contract down so it will require all Levy's guile to get any dough for him.

He's an #8, Five. But I know a nice proper, inexpensive #6 that we could pair with him to really up the athletic ante. And this #6's ball-playing ability is probably better. Wish they didn't decide to cancel the ligue. My boy was just coming back from injury.

It was just a number I plucked out of the air that made the total outlay £100m pal. Much like Milik or Meghaeles I haven’t my got the foggiest. Seems you are a lot close with reports saying Kim Min would be around £13.5m so the overall outlay if these lads are on our radar could be even less than the est £65m
Levy won’t let an asset he can get something for go for nothing. If Rose actually wants to piss a whole year of his career away by digging his heels in let him. I think he changed his stance the moment he agreed to a loan to Newcastle though mate
