We won't get anyone from lille.Would be funny if we end up not signing any players from Lille despite being linked to their entire squad throughout the last few months.
Their valuations of players are too high for levy.

If the gossip on the BBC page is even partially true. we are not going to be in the top 4 for a very long time. Liverpool, City we all know about. Chelsea and Utd are buying really fine players. Our only mention is we haven't even come up with an acceptable offer for Hjoberg or whatever his name is!! We are getting left so far behind, it'll take new owners and huge investment to challenge for the CL place.Getting that 4th spot is the limit of our aspirations with this squad and owners
And even that looks like a tall stretch with the squad we have
Jose didn't sell Salah... wanna know why? Because he was sacked before Salah even finished his loan.
he froze out the best player in the country, why do people act like this is made up. Listen to what KDB says himself and how confused he was that he wasn't playing.
Gio won him over, I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that the only reason he got a chance to do so, and for a consistent run of matches, was because of injuries to the squad. It wasn't because he worked hard in training or knuckled down or any of that - he just happened to be fit and available at the time we needed him to be.Jose said publicly "I don't know what to do with him" (paraphrasing); yet who remains a starter at the end of season despite Dele, Lamela, Gedson & Ndombele on the bench.....?
....Gio won him over.
He was also rather dismissive of him at times in the media and was more than happy to sub him off:
- Completed 90mins in the league just twice under Poch just twice (3 times all year!).
- Taken off at half time in the horror-show at Brighton.
- Off at 60mins vs both Bayern & Olympiakos.

I think you're dead wrong about #1, but #2... People are highlighing this these facts as a way of dismissing the idea that Ndombele has merely suffered at the hands of a vendetta from Jose. To dismiss those factors above along with pretending their weren't injury AND basic fitness issues is as disingenuous as you are suggesting others of being.
Showed against Liverpool why Lamela is so important and he isn't.
Did
Lamela overrun in MF, are you having a laugh, Walker was exposed time and again because Son was on walkabout.
He was incredibly poor today and is in an incredibly poor run of form
He needs more time to get use to the BPL. Look for him to have a stronger year next campaign.
I hope you're right but I would be amazed if he's here next season
I would have started Chadli today but as we didn't I'm sure Poch was thinking about bringing Carroll on to help Walker as our weakness down that flank nearly cost us the game and I did mention it at half time
Son played for 5 seasons in Bundesliga but clearly not good enough for PL
One good cameo against Quaraabag not enough for me
Lamela and Dembele were both poor when we signed them and have taken a while to reach their potential. Son deserves the chance to prove himself.. It's a tough league to adjust to and was signed without a proper pre season with Poch. Next season I think we'll see a better player.
We seem to often buy the unfinished product. Next season Son and Clinton should start to show why we paid a lot of money for them. If they can't improve with Poch as their coach then it's probably not the right league (or level) for them.
It's not his injury.
A poster from South Korea or Leverkusen was on here last summer telling us his weakpoints and they have been shown up in the League too.
He has to do something because right now, he's shit. Absolutely hate seeing him hitting easy passes astray, and failing to control the final ball. You're a fucking footballer, train harder. What else do you have to do.
Just echoing on what most are saying but he was absolutely woeful against dippers. Chadli should be ahead of him int he pecking order. Chadli has his faults but his end product is always there we don't have time to fuck about with Son who is in terrible form.
put him on ice and we can see what he an offer next season.
I like Son. I like a player that runs with the ball, even if these runs result in him being tackled, the run itself has caused the defence to be turned and put into panic mode. In fact we have scored a number of goals as a direct result of him running at a defence and being tackled, but we have won the 2nd ball and scored. I also like a genuine two footed player.
Where he can improve is his first touch and his physicality/technic in the challenge. These can be addressed as his touch IMO is systematic to playing in the highest tempo team in the highest tempo league. One of the things that Poch has done is coach our players how tackle, an example of this is Dembele probably our best tackler in the team but the likes of Eriksen, Kane, Lamela, Walker & Rose are brilliant at timing a tackle and knocking a ball off the oppo, main point here is they have improved dramatically. Nothing suggests he can't improve with one of the best "coaches" I have seen.
This rumor could explain why we are linked to Brozovic
Report: Inter and Brescia agree on Tonali | Football Italia
Inter are reportedly closing in on Sandro Tonali and have come to an agreement with Brescia regarding a loan with an obligation to buy. Corriere di Brescia claims the two clubs have agreed on an expensive loan deal with an obligation to buy the player for a total amount of â¬35m in 2021.www.football-italia.net

Gio came back and played the last two Champions League matches before Poch got sacked, so it wasn't a match fitness issue that kept him out from mid-November until Boxing Day. Mourinho was playing Winks, Sissoko, etc..over him in midfield.
He took the opportunity,
whereas I don't think Ndombele has really been given any opportunity under Jose compared to the run of matches he was getting under Poch, albeit under a team that was largely not working at the time.
I went back and read through the Son thread and you could just copy-replace Son/Ndombele and get most of the same arguments on both sides - note, this is just TWO PAGES but it goes on for hundreds of posts:
Levy refuses to live in that world, unfortunately whilst that trend continues this club will always be a bridesmaid.Well it was fun to dream about potential good players coming here for a day. Even if my Inter swaps were insanely unlikely at least for a little while it was nice to get excited about this team actually adding world class players that could help move this team forward.
Instead it is back wondering where studs like Kim Min-Jae and Max Aarons fit in with the club. I can’t wait to hear about how good Davies really looked if you ignore all the game footage and focus only how nice he is, how Winks will turn into a player he has never shown the ability to be if he just has superstar PEH next to him and how getting Son and Kane healthy is really much more important than getting in an actual back up striker and that there is no need to bring in a young dynamic player in MF to bring on as a creative sub to help break down teams parking the bus or when things are stale, we have Lamela who can be our super sub in those situations.
The lack of ambition and willingness to settle for mediocre players is maddening. I know they can’t pay what the giants pay but for once a little ambition and desire to add quality to the club would be nice to see.
True, but what extra he spends,he would save some of it on travel as any players we sign could walk to the ground. We won't get anyone from lille.
Their valuations of players are too high for levy.
Gio can't do anything on the pitch if he doesn't get on the pitch at all, and he wasn't on the pitch for the first 6 weeks that Mou was manager, a point where worse players like Dier, Winks and Sissoko were chosen over him. That is horrible management by Mourinho. He only got his chance, and therefore his place, due to injury luck. That's my entire point.I think you're somewhat lost in semantics. If you don't perform in matches nor training, you won't keep your place... If you don't think Gio's willingness to graft on the pitch (and presumably in training) is part of what won Jose over then I'll politely disagree.
He has had less opportunities under Jose... Of course... He's been unavailable more too.... That's black and white, but all was not idyllic under Poch.
I'm not really sure of your point here... Son struggled, got injurred but came good. If you're saying TN may thrive if given a a chance of a second season; then that's a fair prediction; but it doesn't mean people are re-writting his first season.
You won't be able to say that there is a young lad on here who goes to bits over it.Why can't i help thinking this rumoured covid related transfer austerity is going to be limited to 1 club? Can you guess which one?
The best solution for all parties concerned is the dinosaur fucks the fuck out of our club. The issue we seem to have is..
Levy doesn't want to sell Ndombele.
Mourinho doesn't trust Ndombele and doesn't think he's working hard enough.
Ndombele doesn't get along well with Mourinho.
Ndombele's reps want to get Tanguy out.
The only way he is sold is if a deal is put in front of us which is too good to refuse, and it would have to be a serious offer. Skrinair is brilliant, but I'd rather keep Tanguy.
Skriniar swap for N'dombele and buying Hojberg should be 2 good pieces of business
Lamela swap for Perisic..
Pretty good transfer window already
Ozil's a flat-track bully and a primadonna.... I wouldn't build shit around him.
Let's all hope your comparison is thoroughly off-piste.

And I'm saying the same arguments that were made against Son are being made against Ndombele: new player from a foreign league struggling in his first season, constant fitness issues, not fit for the intensity of the Premier League, etc...it the same thing all over again.
