Providing this is all confirmed, quite happy with Hojbjerg. Think he'll prove to be a good signing for us. Sad the way it went with KWP.

Are people not at all keen on Aarons as an option at RB?

I'm wary of his flaws, especially in the air, but I think people are underrating him as a player and prospect. He's an extremely good ball carrier and would offer us a really exciting dimension in attack. He can be a good defender 1v1 and doesn't turn 21 until next year.

My biggest concern with Aarons is that he looked worse the more the season went on. This could have been due to the whole team just losing energy/desire as the losing got to them or it could be that teams were able to get a read on him and took advantage. With his small stature he is going to have to make up with it with smart plays defensively and I saw too many times when he was out of position, so to me that is a concern.

That said he is 20 and has a lot to like about him and I would prefer him over Aurier. As much as I don't care for him as a starter, I think having a guy like Davies that could provide cover for Aarons if he takes time to gt up to our level or flat out flops would make his signing as easier go. To go with Aarons and only really have Tanganga as a back-up seems very risky.

I think Aarons has suffered from being linked to us for so long that people have watched so much of him that the flaws start to stand out more than they should. Some of the other "preferred" guys likely have not had so much scrutiny about their games and also had more viewings of their highlight reels rather than game time.

Well, if you consider Castagne a good RB probably you think there are plenty of good RB avaliable.

What is your definition of good?

I think he is better than Aurier, I think he is certainly a top half of the EPL table level player, a guy who isn't out of place playing in a CL game for us.

I think there are questions about whether he is a top 4 level RB or if he will ever be better than good, but I think if we sign him we are unlikely to see RB as a weakness.

Castagne is good enough for us. At the very least he won't cost us as many goals as Aurier has, that would be impossible.

If Aurier leaves than for sure we need to go all out for Castagne. If Aurier stays it'll probably be him and Tanganga filling in...I'm not optimistic we will sign Castagne if Aurier stays.

What are the chances of Foyth staying and getting a shot at RB? Has anyone seen much of him play for Argentina as RB?

He was ok but not dynamic enough for me. A bit like a mix of Aurier and KWP...can put a good foot in and defend, but also prone to mistakes, and not much attacking threat.

If it's Aurier and Foyth then we haven't improved at all. If it's Castagne and Foyth, I can live with that.

I think it is slim.

That seemed to be very much a Poch experiment, with Argentina giving it a go as well with how poor they are at the back right now.

Since Jose has come in, whether due to injury or managers choice, Foyth does not seem to be in the plans.

There has been much smoke from both sides to not think he is gone for the next season, only question left in my mind is whether he is sold or loaned, but either way I would be shocked if he is here for next season.

Edit:

In my wholly underformed footballing opinion, I think Foyth at RB always seemed like trying to fix a problem by putting someone who could work out there rather than someone who should be played out there. I think Foyth's future is a CB. He is just a little more athletic than some CB's so manager think they can use him out wide or as a DM but in reality he is a CB.

It’s a shame we can’t loan him to Leeds if he isn’t part of our plans and see what he is like with regular game time
