Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm not massively excited about incoming this year because I don't expect us to splash out on big names or anything. Jose has indicated that its a series of smaller additions and tweaks which will get us over the line, so I'm not expecting to see much more than just that.

At the same time, I'm a thirsty bitch and keep refreshing this thread desperate to see an announcement :mourhandlaugh:

And I don't disagree with anything you just said.
In general, Chelsea is still a bigger club than us, the fact that I don't like that doesn't change it.

It just bothers me that some fans insinuate that we now are at the same financial level as they are
(I'm not talking which squad/player is better or where we can finish the season)
and that we have the same budgets to spend but that the only noteworthy difference between us is the "lack of ambition"

I don't see them as bigger than us. They win more because they have a wealthy owner who is happy to subsidize their losses with his looted personal fortune. Revenue wise we are not far from them and that's with ENIC running the club as an actual profit-making business rather than a loss-making venture.

They won the lottery 17 years ago and they know it which is why they celebrate like they've won a cup every time they beat us. We basically couldn't give a fuck about them for 90 odd years and their fans still carry that chip on their shoulder.

They're still London's 3rd club to me and they always will be.

Thank God. I was getting worried that it would never happen

One interesting aspect about Brazilian players from this last generation is that they rarely fooled us. From the very beginning, everybody here knew Leandro Damião was a mediocre striker, except for the inept Mano Menezes - former National coach, replaced by Scolari before the 2014 World Cup. The same goes for Paulinho. Mediocre midfielder.

Tottenham got them both, for some reason...

Guess part of the "problem" is that I only got interested in football when Chelsea were already on financial doping, winning the PL & CL, so I never knew them before that. I kind of still see through City though, because that transformation was later, after I got interested in football.

He fooled me

Would be such good business

I prefer him over all of the other CBs we've been linked to and he's a free agent
He´s 1,82 cm and he wins 0.7 Aerial Duels per game (19 games played). I don´t think he´s the CB we need.

A backup for Davies, maybe. But in this case, wouldn´t it be better to have Tanganga or Cirkin covering?

I like his versatility and value. We likely can't sign a CB and a LB. I think he can be a solid backup CB and potentially challenge Davies for the starting LB spot. There are better players out there but we can't afford them. I like his potential and athleticism enough to see what Jose can do with him.

We could then spend more money on a RB and/or AM

his left foot is magic..can see a good coach reworking him into a deep lying playmaker or a versatile LWB

He is young and a free signing..lots of sell-on value. Is a no-brainer Levy deal if Mourinho doesn't veto him

I’m hearing COVID has cost us and others a lot of money so unless N’Dombele goes there won’t be money for a big signing

Bale and Zlatan a no go, they have tried Bale several times the agent won’t play ball

The back up striker has to be in the 15-20m range and they are only looking for that and full backs

Barnett is a gooner and a money grabbing cunt!

Their president said he can leave, they are going with Ibrahima Niane in attack, he's had one good season in ligue 1 and I think Metz want to sell him now while his stock is high.
Another cheap cast off from a club cleaning house. This parsimonious behaviour will stop us ever improving enough to challenge for anything. I've made my peace with it all though. Just hoping we make it as far as the 6th round of the FA cup and finish 6th. I'll always support my team but I'm not going to expect them to do anything until the present regime goes. That way, madness lies.
