Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We won't buy him unless we can raise funds, there are rumours of Leeds being interested in Foyth perhaps they will buy him for 12-15 million,
I don´t really believe in that. I think we are going to raise funds, yes; some players will be leaving. But we do have some money to spend anyway - limited money, but some.

This would be awful. Serge already wanted out last summer, so he won't be signing a new contract any time soon. That means he'll be down to a year next summer and worth a fuckload less than 20-25m.

And that's not even discussing whether him remaining at the club is detrimental to our on pitch performance.

Levy needs to swallow his pride and let him go.
Exactly. It´s not my opinion about him as a player. I´m just pointing that, the way we do business, it doesn´t really make sense to sell a "first team" player and then buying two new RB´s - most likely from outside the Premier League, needing time to adapt, etc.

By the way, still not giving my opinion about him as a player, but so far I haven´t seen anything from him saying or suggesting he wants to leave the club now. Just stories from the last window.

I said it yesterday: it´s not everybody´s dream, but I think we are keeping Aurier, while buying another cheap option RB - most likely Çelik.

The only way I see Aurier leaving the club is someone willing to pay silly money for him - in Aurier´s case, 20-25m.
Aurier wanted to go last year. I think he still wants to go. And makes sense to cash in now rather than watch his contract run down. If we buy a specialist right back and another centre back, we just about have enough cover (Tanganga, Toby, Hojberg can play there).

I think Aarons could come, but it depends on Norwich and what price they'll let him go for. He's better than many on here give him credit for. Buying young English talent is still a Spurs thing, and has generally worked well for us.

I know we want to get rid of players but if we are demanding 20 million for Serge and 18 million for Sissoko they aren't going anywhere.

I don't really get the jealousy with Chelsea in this window, they are signing some very good players (minus Werner who is great) but it's in their strongest area. If they spent that money on their defensive areas and a new keeper then I would be more worried. They can have all the depth they want in attack, but they can't play them all. I can see big egos clashing as they aren't getting regular minutes, and players like Abraham who had a good season being sold next summer for game time. For all their investment they have built themselves a front 3 on par with us, we have the better defence, better keeper and hopefully with some work get our midfield up to scratch. Højbjerg will be a massive signing for us despite not being glamorous enough for some.
Fuck Chelsea and anyone that’s ever had anything to do with them

That´s what I´m saying: "Last year". What have you seen from him lately that really suggests he wants to leave the club now?

Look at Toby staying and getting a new contract. Aurier´s had his best season under Jose - definitely not enough, I know. But things change.

I think AC Milan could be interested - in Aurier, Emerson, Çelik. But everything else is just speculation.

Mourinho made the most of him this season, but won't put up with his defensive errors long term. He'll want an upgrade. From the club's point of view, Aurier is on relatively big wages, he's taking up a non home grown spot, he has 2 years on his contract. And from Aurier's point of view Milan will offer him more money and a longer contract. There are plenty of things that put a sale this year on the cards.

Metz are not that keen to keep him.
That´s a very lazy article, if you ask me.

"Must improve his ability to hold up the ball". Why? I clicked on the link they gave to find out, and it just sent me to Whoscored - one of the notes said "Holding on the ball" is one of his weakness - Hmmmm.

From everything I´ve seen, he plays in a team with no creativity, and it´s exactly his hold up play that allows his teammates to attack.

Finally, "It´s a risk that is not worth taking". Again, why? He seems to be a very good striker. If he is cheap, that is exactly because there is some risk involved.

I'm not surprised, even youtube fails to make him seem like a decent player

Those prices don't sound ridiculous in a non COVID transfer window but they sound a steep ask now. Who knows how deals and payments are structured though. It's all guesswork from fans unless the club come out and say it. I want both out though. No mistake in that.
