But making false claims against my club really bothers me. And when they are disproven, they divert the topic, turn things personal or just ignore it, and restate the claim the following week anyway.
Stanley, is this in reference to me and our last back and forth? This would indeed make make it not in good faith. You do understand that right? I made no claims that I cannot backup. In fact the only claim I made you supported in your first post to me.

And the irony is this playbook is right up BC's alley.

It's a simple question. ENIC don't put their own money into the club, do they? The infrastructure was prioritised at the expense of the football team.

That's why Levy said,

“I understand, as I am a fan, clearly you want to win on the pitch, but we have been trying to look at this slightly differently, in that we want to make sure we ensure an infrastructure here to stand the test of time.”

“We could have easily spent more money on players,” said Mr Levy. “Who knows if that would have bought us more success or not . . . The right approach is to build from the bottom up. There is no quick fix to becoming a much more significant global club.”

So, according to what you said to me earlier, we have been cutting corners in relation to the football team since 2009 in order to fund the new stadium.

OK, even according to that, and the figures we were talking about, it would equate to about 25m a year over ten years of the project. But that has been invested by THFC, using money generated by THFC, to build a stadium for THFC that is going to help THFC to generate much bigger revenues for THFC for the foreseeable future.

The building of the new stadium sees us more than double our match day revenue from something like 45m to 110m (approx) a year. So they've spent 25m a year the last ten years to generate 65m extra a year for the next 10-20 whatever...

Ok, but that's what bus-conductor bus-conductor and Airfixx Airfixx say about every one of their gotcha questions. No probs though, I'll play.

No, all I claim is that DL priced him too high. See RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK 's post

Clubs first move is not a formal bid. They would know what price Levy wants by talking to intermediaries, etc. In that article it says 130M LAST SUMMER!!!!! I thought it was 80M which still would have been high. And the inference would be that no club wanted him at those prices...hense (h/t airfixx) the bolded part is correct and a restating of my claim of DL pricing him out of a move.

Placing an unrealistic number on a player IS pricing them out of a move. No bids need be made for that. If I offered you RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK 's 'made turds' and wank spunk from WHL for 500M you would pass on it without even a counteroffer because from 500M no reasonable counter would be seen as anything other than derisory. Now if I dropped it to 5 pounds perhaps you would be interested. Can't say and to each there own.

Stanley, two days in a row you've had questions not directly pertaining to my point and both have been in service of a narrative. Neither has felt in good faith though you say this one is and I take you at your word. But when you ask me to provide info/support for claims I have not made it is not conversational but adversarial. I can play equally well in either sandbox.
So do you believe that the act of DL putting a high number on his head is the biggest reason he didn't move that summer?

All I'm trying to say is that whilst DL did put high number on his head, I believe that wasn't the reason he didn't move. He didn't move because no one ever made a formal & decent offer. You could say that the fact that DL put this price on his head halted any club from making any offer. And that this way DL scared of potential bidders without formally declining any offer.

It's not in reference to you Todd, you're ok

White Hart Lane was obsolete-you'll get no argument from me.

But this new stadium involves serious long-term pain. Money that could have been spent on the team has been diverted into infrastructure (which is why Levy is here in the first place). We began paying for the project roughly 10 years ago (thereby leaving ourselves short on the playing field ever since). Ahead of us, we have repayments of approximately £37m to make each year until 2042. That's a total of 32 or 33 years of pain.

I stated taht DL priced him out of a move. From the article:
The chairman has let it be known that he would cost £130m, which has drawn the usual rueful smiles, although not from Eriksen. If this were not Levy, the position would be unbelievable. But this is Levy. Eriksen faces a complicated summer.
Perhaps that says something else to you.

This is pricing him out of a move. How do you not see this? Did I EVER make any claims about any offer being declined Stanley? You seem stuck on this point but I ask you to find any place where I've made that claim. That would be DL turning down offers not DL pricing him out of a move.

Good to know that it wasn't a question in good faith my man. And now you know why they were dealt with the way they were. Future 'good faith' questions will be as well.

edit: Stanley ignore that last line. It seems the previous stuff was not in reference to me. Unfortunately IIRC your reply was to BC whose post was about me so it all felt as if it was pointing to me.

Happy with this but I watch alot of Ligue 1, he'd be a disaster as a DM for us, plays too many risky passes that haven't worked out for him this season

I'll get destroyed for this but could imagine him becoming what Kouyate was when he signed for Wet Spam, a box to box monster
Next to Hojbjerg in a midfield pair would work. Move Gio to the 10.

We are still a bit light in CM - Skipp on loan leaves us with 4 - Ndombele, GLC, Hojbjerg and Winks. Sissoko has played there but really shouldn't.

Makes more sense than all the winger links.

Tall fast and strong, good at intercepting play but not the best at actual tackling, has a good and creative range of passing but it was too risky this season hence Toulouse are relegated
That Toulouse team was absolutely woeful so I don’t think his passing that got them relegated. Interesting that his stats look a bit similar to Hojbjerg. Good at interceptions and turnovers, but quite a low passing percentage, both high 70s, and high percentage of forward passes into final 1/3, suggesting they have been asked to get the ball forward quickly by their coaches. Big difference is he can bring the ball forward with a dribble too.
