You know what managers are like, Tom. It is part of their job description to talk shite.100%. As I stated earlier, we were in a league cup final, 2 FA Cup semi finals and a League Cup semi final during Pochs reign. Can anyone who’s on the “Poch didn’t respect the Cups” train explain that?
The reasons we were beaten in those finals and semi finals were down to a number of things, above all else we were beaten by teams who simply had better players than us who were used to winning.
But to try and argue that Poch or the players weren’t giving absolutely everything is pure and utter horse. The semi against United particularly springs to mind. Both Poch and Dele were nearly in tears after that game.
Why should we go for someone like Jiminez, anyway? Why not someone like Marcus Thuram? He's far more versatile and intelligent. And a better athlete, too. Stronger, quicker, and can beat a man. There is literally no chance whatsoever that we could sign Jiminez or neves

Neves is just a systems player, who only wants to receive the ball when he is facing the play. He has no pace and not much intensity, and never has to cover much ground because Wolves play such a pragmatic brand of football.
If we are serious about Jiminez, I think it's goodbye Harry.
Utterly pointless. And yet you have people catastrophizing that we don't have a pot to piss in.
Oh we absolutely lost to some gunk for sure. But there’s a big difference between losing to a minnow in an early round and being beaten in a semi final or final. Usually at that stage, the cream rises to the top.You know what managers are like, Tom. It is part of their job description to talk shite.
I wouldn't reach for the excuse that we were beaten by better teams. We crashed out to some awful muck, managing to look like a confused mess in the process. For every Juventus or Chelsea, there was a Crystal Palace or a Gent. That's why cup football is exciting. You don't have to have the best/better team.

I wouldn't describe that Man Utd team as cream, Tom. And as you have pointed out once or twice, they were being managed by a dinosaur.Oh we absolutely lost to some gunk for sure. For some reason, this guy who I MUST have seen x amount of times has left no lasting impression. Was I not paying attention or is the hyperbole just that.? Spin for the market.this is from F365
Southampton set £35m asking price for Spurs target
Date published: Wednesday 10th June 2020 12:24
Southampton have placed a £35million price tag on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
The club captain has just over a year left on his contract at St Mary’s, but the Saints claim their £35million asking price is fair given he’s just 24 years old.
Southampton are hopeful Hojbjerg will will commit his long-term future at the club, but chief executive Martin Semmens insists they will sell the midfielder if he doesn’t sign a new contract and a buyer stumps up the cash.
Hojbjerg’s desire to play at the highest level suggests a move away from St Mary’s is likely, with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho thought to be an admirer.
In a recent interview with SPORT1, Hojbjerg said: “I know what I want, the club knows it too.
“I want to play at an even higher level than I am currently. The relationship between me and Southampton is fantastic.
“The club gave me the platform to grow. I’m not saying ‘Goodbye’ and I’m focused on my club, but my goal is very clear: I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.
“I gained a lot of experience so that I could move on to develop elsewhere. When I was 23 I became a captain in a Premier League club. Now I’m hungry to get to the next level.”
I've a sneaking suspicion we will bring in more players than people think.
Anything concrete or just a feeling?I've a sneaking suspicion we will bring in more players than people think.
There's no point anyway. We need defenders or nothing is going to change. There is literally no chance whatsoever that we could sign Jiminez or neves
Must have been in the Jurassic era.I wouldn't describe that Man Utd team as cream, Tom. And as you have pointed out once or twice, they were being managed by a dinosaur.
Still though. They’re still United and we were still Tottenham. A bit of Jose shithousery coupled with Spursy luck = guaranteed broken Spurs hearts.I wouldn't describe that Man Utd team as cream, Tom. And as you have pointed out once or twice, they were being managed by a dinosaur.
Form team? Huh? In the semis and final against Chavs on both occasions they were on the verge of winning the league man!As someone pointed out the other day when scrutinising big games... We were the form team when going into the semi's vs Chavs & Utd + the LC final. Against Utd we were essentially at home too..... Gutting! ...We should have won it that year.
RESPECT THE COCK
Do you rate this Malang Sarr guy? If so he could be quite a good solution would allow us to let Vertonghen leave and sell Foyth while bringing in a LEFT-FOOTED replacement on a FREE

United fair enough, but as I said to Five it was still Manchester United in a Cup semi final and we were still Spurs who’d won fuck all in 20 odd years. The pressure was all on us. No matter who was managing United it was never going to easy.
Ha ha got my answer. Ok didn't know too much about him . I trust you. Guess that's not a good solutionAtrocious player, IMO. Weak, slow, poor on the ball, doesn't read the game well.
My solution is someone totally under the radar.Ha ha got my answer. Ok didn't know too much about him . I trust you. Guess that's not a good solution
