I said he was Dembeles replacement back in 2018 when he was performing brilliantly for Lille.

Surprised Brighton managed to get him and not surprised that he's performing well for them - he's destined for better things.
You said a 21 year old Ndombele was an upgrade on Dembele though after a grand total of 32 games in Ligue 1 (he only played the full match in 12 of these matches). You talk a load of shite about hyped players.

Again, if you name every player you'll eventually maybe get something right.
He's an upgrade on Dembele though, in my opinion.

Especially the Dembele we got last season.

He carries the ball equally as well. (Not a better dribbler)
He's more creative.
Transitions just as well.
More important statistic: He's considerably younger.

Don't really see what having one year in top flight matters. Kante was the same. Had one year in Ligue 2. Had a year in Ligue 1 and then became one of the best midfielders in the world at what he does.

When you know, you know.
When you know, you know. 😂

Still think he'll prove to be.

Already had a better output this season than Dembele managed in his last 6 seasons with us, in a MUCH worse team and barely playing.

Love the attention you keep giving me though footballing expert, keep it up.

😘

It took what 3 years to become the Dembele everyone now remembers.

Maybe we should give Ndombele the same time.

For those wanting to spend 'big' money, worth looking at the 10 players Spurs have paid most for :

Ndombele £54m
Lo Celso £41m
Sanchez £36m
Sissoko £31m
Soldado £27m
Lamela £27m
Son £27m
Bergwijn £27m
Moura £26m
Sessegnon £24m (and Aurier the same)

Of those :
- Ndombele and Sessegnon, we are still waiting to see what they can do in our colours.
- Aurier,, Moura, Sissoko and Lamela I had hoped for more from their careers at Spurs, given the amounts we paid for them. No surprise to hear they are frequently on lists of players to sell.
- Soldado sadly a damp squib - just couldn't score
- Sanchez is turning out to be a solid player for us, might quibble about the price.
- Son and Lo Celso have fully justified their fees, whilst Bergwijn looking promising from the limited appearances he's made for us.

Overall, not sure Spurs have done well with players costing much more than £20m

Possibly good news that many of the players we will be buying this summer will be around that £20m mark (even if cash plus players deal) ?!

Ah, Dembele.

- Subbed off at half time numerous times.
- Slowed our play down
- No incisive balls
- Happy to get rid of him

He came along way with the right manager and right system didn't he?

First couple of years at Spurs often played RM, first year under Poch the CM positions were monopolised by the Mason/Bentaleb partnership, Dembele got a look in at the start of Poch 2nd year I think mainly due to injuries to Mason and Bentaleb at the start of the season so a Dembele/Dier partnership was tried out and remained that way for the season.

Funny old world, but injuries open up opportunities for other players.

Dembele had already performed very well in the Premier League too for Fulham against top class opposition.

We also got him for a release clause and didn't spend much money, good value. Daniel loves a deal.

How sad does this sound.

Like a street urchin waiting to feed on the scraps.

As sad as Barcelona having to swap a 23 year old playmaker for a 29 year old player playmaker from Juventus and 10m, just to get by.......and Juventus in real trouble already as more than half the team the wrong side of 30, so they need younger, not older players.

Only thing Spurs need to do but cant is to swap fans who have only lived in their mum's basements with fans who know the real world.

But otherwise Spurs will do just fine - we are not in 3rd division despite some 'fans' thinking we must be

He even started RW in the 15/16 season (a season many believe was his best) before getting injured.

During his time injured, we'd played Mason in central midfield alongside Dier before he got injured (Bentaleb was also injured) so we started playing Dele alongside Dier with Chadli in attack with Eriksen, Lamela and Kane

I then believe Chadli got injured so we decided to push Dele further forward to play with Eriksen and Lamela behind Kane which opened up a spot for Dembele again.

If he never scored against Bournemouth and Villa back to back - who knows what would have happened.

Possibly worth noting KWP starts for Southampton today v Watford after a decent 45 mins off the bench last match.

Probable that he will go there for a fee or part of a swap deal for Hojbjerg ??

Their fans aren't 100% on him, think he's a better footballer than Valeny.

He's not good enough for first team football here anyway, decent footballer like, but I don't see him ever being top class because of his physique and he's not had enough football. Will never be a full international IMO.
