Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

11 March

Tottenham and Chelsea have included Aaron Ramsdale on their list of goalkeeper targets for the summer.

Looking at home grown goalies at last. It’s ridiculous we’ve been taking up the hg quota with three foreign keepers for so many seasons.

How many existing players do you guys think will be moved? And how much can they realistically add to our transfer budget?

Will be very interesting to see if Dele comes back into the team Sunday. Our recent setup doesn't seem to fit him as well. Curious as to whether Lamela stays or goes. (Jose likes him as a sub and he has looked good in that role, but how much value could we get and use in other areas?) What do we do w KWP? What does Foyth get on the open market? (can't imagine he stays around)

How do you rate our needs?
DM, RB, LB, Backup striker?

Absolutely, we were more than complicit in his downfall. We tried to turn his head and he never recovered, who knows what he would have become if he'd have got the move.

complicit
/kəmˈplɪsɪt/

adjective: complicit
  1. involved with others in an activity that is unlawful or morally wrong.

"More than complicit"???? ...Really?

Not being funny, but how many times have we had players tapped up and so forth.... Look at the ridiculous Berbatov saga, FFS! Walker checked out on us mid title push thanks to City waving their wallets about.

...We bid (iirc) 21m and Peace hard-balled us for (iirc) 25m. He and their fans were acting billy big bollocks on social media for sticking it to Levy until it became clear it had blown up in their faces and SB's attitude had taken a dip..... Their fans soon turned on Peace in the aftermath.

Berahino wasn't the first and won't be the last player to find the deal he wants going tits up when Chairmen can't agree on a pricetag. They have no choice but to move on.

RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK is only happy to indulge the piss and vinegar of the WBA chairman because it's suits the story he's looking to tell.

Priorities should be:

Absolute musts: Pure dm, then starting rb/backup striker (these two tied in importance)

Important: replacement for Ndombele if we're not going to use him; fifth cb depending on Jan

Nice to have: LB quality enough to start ahead of Davies, or at least quality enough to challenge davies. This would help us push sessegnon upfield which I think he's better suited.

Dream: dybala, world class rb and lb, world class dm, up and coming fifth cb

Yeah its what every team does, we tapped him up, but it went tits up and ruined him.

Sure, but I don't think it's fair to throw all that at our doorstep as it appeared all along that Peace was using the kid to prove a point.... I'd rather we conducted ourselves in an pure, ethical fashion, but I don't feel a great deal of guilt considering how the other club played their part in the saga.

Serious question: do you think Davies is better than Serge?

Yep.

Palace have scored 30 goals in the league this season.

Sorloth has 31 goals and 10 assists for Trabzonspor this season.

He looked proper shit whenever he got on the pitch for Palace though, a less mobile Vinnie Janssen. Im hoping there's a Drogba Mk2 out there that Jose has seen... someone who can actually move a bit other than being just a lump. Having said that id have bitten your hand off for Llorente at times this season...

IMO Davies is solid/relatively reliable/unspectacular, Serge has the potential to be very good.

Davies has to stop trying to dribble out of trouble and pass the ball.

Serge has to stop making boneheaded mistakes, and improve his crossing.

FWIW, I'm not sure either of those are curable at this stage in their footballing lives/careers.

Edit: If we had to pick one to sell, I'd pick Davies. But I'm not nearly as informed as others here, so I'm not dying on that hill.

It's fashionable to think that we swerved a bullet with young Saido, that he was a wrong-un, a no-mark and so on.

I've always wondered what would have happened with him if we'd done fair business with West Brom at the time. I'd followed his career for about 18 months prior, at the time I watched a lot of England U21 (and as a result of what I saw, paid more attention to WBA) ,and he was head and shoulders the best available young target

I'd watched a bit of him and thought he was vastly overrated and more relevant, he didn't even fit our/Poch's playing style as a back up for Kane in 2015. It was deeply flawed logic. It would have been like using Defoe in the Kane role when Kane was out. Or Sissoko as a CM. Or Moura as a CF....oh hang on...
