Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Now the Prem is going to be so condensed next season and we know we will have Europa, a back up striker is essential. Ideally I would prefer somebody better than Wilson but we don't have limitless funds and have areas in our regular XI that we would be better served splashing out on so for 10m, I'll take it.

Hojbjberg is the one I am worried about, I understand there seems to be a lack of top draw defensive midfielders around atm but it stinks of us going for an easy and cheap option. Southampton fans also don't seem to rate him at all so that worries me. I presume we will probably sign a right back as well, I expect it to be Aarons from Norwich again just because it is an easy option and we'll be able to get him from a relegated side.

If that is to be our transfer window Wilson, Hojbjerg and Aarons isn't exactly an inspiring window is it.
Saints fans always bash whoever is about to leave them

Don’t get me wrong, I’m hardly jumping for joy at the signing of Hojberg, but Southampton fans are proper bitter bastards. They were saying similar things about VVD when he was leaving so go figure. If Hojberg come out and signed a contract expressing his love for Southampton, you watch them all say what a great player he is. Bitter bunch of cunts, well known for it.

True say. It's a shame that the SCBC label has fallen out of use, summed them up to a tee

part of our probelm will be having enough "home grown" & Club trained players in the squad, yes we could have bench warmers to fill the quota, but we need players that we can bring on if needed
in the past the money needed (to buy players) to get into the CL versus the money gained from CL made it unviable to Levy, but now with the pot of gold in CL (£100M+ if you go into semi's) and maybe fall in transfer fees due to the virus, may change Levy's mindset (hope it does anyway)

with the 3 sub's rule these promising lads will not get enough match time, most managers will not risk giving lads lots of match time, they will normally focus on one player and give him 5-15mins at the end of games (if the points are safe) so any other good lads won't get time
so they need loaning out to play mens football, that is one of Poch's biggest mistakes not loaning players out (sorry to the Poch lovers, but I was never in that club)

I think he struggled to live up to the hype at Barca. 10 goals in all comps in his first season over there. 13 in his second. 9 goals for Bayern. And then we can add on a bunch of assists as well. Which to me is perfectly fine numbers.

My guess is that maybe he is better off at a club on the level below the club that subscribes to the league title year after year.

As an attacking midfielder/creative option he’s probably the best available. I’m sceptical we will pay what Bayern did for him on loan though. Weren’t they crazy numbers?

A quick google says that Bayern paid 8.5 mil plus wages.

In a scenario where we loan him in I assume we want Barca to cover part of his wages, which probably means a slightly higher loan fee. But probably doable.

Say Kane's out with a long term injury, then Wilson has to cover, does a guy who has only reached double figures once in his prem career inspire confidence?

Not for me.
The thing is who can we get who has got double figures in the prem? It’s either get someone who has experience of the premiership or take a punt on someone else being able to adjust , either way who ever we sign is going to need to be able to stay sharp while say on the bench as Kane will play 99% of every single game

Zaha is a good player but we other spots sorted first, if we have that sort of money i would go for Grealish, but first thing is a DM, RB, leftside CH (Mings ?),
but of course if Nodombele goes its Grealish for me
