This used to be true, but when was the last time we discovered, bought and developed a young player successfully? Alli? Son?
I dunno..... Luckily we're in this thing called a transfer window and have already been linked to a handful.

But yea, without a doubt they have made brilliant purchases of late with likes of Pereira, Chillwell, Madisson, turkish Shideshow Bob, Ndidi, Tielmans and even offering veteran Evans contract. Most of them would be starters for us and they were signed on cheap.
Ofc they have also failed with some as well - Gray, Slimani, Iheanacho, Silva, Praet but this is part of the strategy essentially.
Poch allegedly turned all of these down.
Evans was a no brainer for free.

Yeh; and the melts cried whenever he did it yet bitched just as hard with hindsight for not selling Eriksen and Dele 2 years ago.
Too many of our fanbase haven't got the guts to be Dortmund.
