I thought he was great 2018-19 and the start of last season. Maybe I just caught him having off days but he wasn't impressive post covid.

Doherty is a good signing, and I think ticks a lot of boxes for Jose. He’s not perfect, would prefer someone a bit younger but we cannot be picky with Aurier looking certain to leave. The other options we have been linked with are uninspiring to say the least and I’d prefer Doherty to all of them.
He was signed by Wolves in July 2010, 7 months after his 18th birthday, so he was not registered to an English club for 36 months before his 21st birthday, so he is not homegrown per PL rules.
Seems crystal clear to me, but I see sources on Google expressing some uncertainty about it.

I certainly wouldn’t disagree, he’s the right age for us to use as a starter and find someone younger later.
