Re: the Bale rumours. Weirdly, I'd value him as much for the intangible 'lift' he could give to the rest of the squad as much as anything else. Perhaps it's a hail Mary but the malaise that seems to permeate the playing staff is horrendous.

They're a maddeningly inconsistent side.
But the Dr. Jekyll Wolves are genuinely top class.
It's because most of us would prefer to watch a team lose like they play, than watch a team win like we play. It's boring, uninspired football. I'm still watching...but when I see a 5am kickoff next weekend (local time), I'm not sure why I'd set an alarm to wake up for that?

He’s basically gone one round further in the CL and one place higher in the league than Arry did with us.
If anyone thinks that’s what we need right now at this club, a manager the same age as some of our players, with one decent season then you’re off your head.
