mate, if we sell the best striker in Europe. We have a Devine right to sign a top quality striker, end of story. If we get anything less, it’s an absolute piss take of the supporters. I don’t trust Levy. I don’t trust the club. Kane will go on deadline and we will be left scrambling around for Braithwaite, Ivan Tony , Tammy Abraham ( who hasn’t gone Roma yet) as replacements. I remember when we were so desperate for a striker we started pinning our hopes on signing Shane Long because he'd be slightly better than nobody. Aaaand we got nobody.

Fully expecting the Tottenham website to have Son and Dele listed as our strikers this season.

Whether you're sure about him is besides the point.

Yep AVB got rid of VDV, but Baldini and the 'committee' probably went for Dempsey with a view to chasing dollar signs, and thinking 'rabbit in headlights' Siggy would suddenly step up a level or two.

The fact that (according to your take) we brought in a 2nd player too would suggest a significant effort was made to replace Rafa too.

Frankly, your complaints here aren't just.

Even the Bale money...... Why not acknowledge we bought Eriksen who turned out fuckin' awesome?

None of these examples back up the suggestion that we'll make a half arsed effort to replace Kane if he goes.....

Soldado didn't make sense because he didn't even remotely suit our style of play.

Obviously it's all hypothetical right now as we don't even know if Kane is off. But I'm happy to go on record saying we will sell Kane at the last minute and churn out the usual excuses for failing to bring someone in. We'll all know soon enough.

I think the reasoning was sound. We haven't even sorted a backup striker yet. As usual we'll sell too late to do anything, probably whilst being heavily linked to genuine class which will of course prove to be difficult to get over the line.

It's a broken record and a terrible song to begin with.

He’s already told them what they offered was insufficient, Kane is arguably our best ever player, City is arguably the richest team on the planet. Make us a worthwhile offer or withdraw interest. Not difficult

ENIC have had twenty years of transfer windows , 19 if you don’t count the two windows where we chose to act like we had a transfer ban.

History tells us how this plays out

Wait until the window is closed before moaning

Window closes with the usual disappointing end

We then get told , support the team we are not real fans, give the new players time , the new manager time, or quite often the new manager and new players time

Well sorry but when they regularly deliver good windows and good decisions I will be patient. They have not earned my trust

Not boasting nor making that argument.

Much like Kane; there was no equivalent player on the market to replace like for like; even with a big windfall to spend.... So you try and replace their impact accross multiple signings.....

Eriksen was a great signing and contributed a massive amount.... In the longer term more than Bale ever did.

Regardless; the original complaint I responded to was that we barely made an effort to replace Bale, VDV & Eriksen. That's an unfair criticism.
