If he isn't sold then they have to offer him a new contract or lose him on a free. I think it makes sense to sell him, no hard feelings but I don't see him getting another 3 years at Spurs.
Yes, true. Fully understand the contract situation; so it makes sense.

I just do think Aurier can actually play football. His technical skill on the ball is better than a large share of the squad and he reads the game reasonably well. He does have his inexplicable moments and he was abject in the Europa debacle (hardly alone in that).

Just a pity that we’re in this situation. Money is at a premium and we have 2 cbs and a striker to worry about. I expect we’ll get linked with Aarons next.

Aurier as a back up is a terrifying thought. He has shown to have a terrible attitude even when getting first team minutes I would hate to see what he is like when is clearly 2nd choice.

He may, and I stress may, be better than Doherty but I would much rather Doherty if we are keeping one of them as the back-up. If we did move to a back 3 Doherty might actually be ok as a back-up behind a new first choice RB.
You are off your rocker if you think Doherty might be close to Aurier's level. I'm not a huge Aurier fan or something, but come on, Doherty was an absolute disaster this year. In his "best" games he was merely below average. In his worst matches he was an utter liability. At least Aurier is capable of having very effective matches for us.

Aurier doesn’t have a level mate. Don’t get me wrong , Doherty is absolute dog turd, but don’t make out Aurier is much better because he really isn’t. He is a complete liability and both are not good enough to be playing as our main right back. Both shit players in their own right.

To me they are both not close to good enough and that is what is important.

Doherty as a RWB for Wolves was better than Aurier as a RB for us. As a back-up I would take Doherty because he hasn't shown himself to be a problem in the dressing room like Aurier is. If we move to a 3 at the back system then I think Doherty is probably a decent back-up for that formation.

Hopefully we could trade up Doherty and Winks for Aarons

Here’s for hoping 🙏 😊

A younger option is Tarem Moffi of Lorient this lad is going be big time and is like a mixture of Mbappe with that raw pace to burn and Riyad Mahrez with the silky skills plus he is a real precision finisher.
I think you are over-egging the pudding there. He's quick, no doubt, but I don't think he's got the supersonic speed of Mbappe. His hold-up play/ link-play/ ball control leave an awful lot to be desired at the moment, but I am curious to see how he develops.

He’s definitely got a bright future in the game and at 7.2 million pound estimated value is surely worth taking a risk on compared with some of the shite in our ranks his hunger and desire will see him put a good shift in most games and what’s not to like about that?

I am not opposed to the idea of signing him. What I am saying is that his football is very rough at the moment.

Players with one year left on their deals who might interest us ie will be cheaper

Defence.....Ginter, Milenkovic, Tarkowski, Denayer, Felipe(Lazio)

Midfield....Zakaria, Soumare, Kessie, Sabitzer, Pellegrini, Kamara (Marseille) Grillitsch

Forwards.....Ings, Edouard, Armstrong
Denayor no way. Was very poor in scotland. Any of the others be decent work on the cheap

If you think about it though, Waddle, Gazza, Ginola - all 3 must be right up there amongst our most skilful and exciting players, certainly in the 40 or so years that I've been a fan anyway. I'd love Saint Maximin to eventually be added to that list...

(Wonder why someone clicked 'dislike' on my earlier post without any reason given - wonder what they dislike about the idea of signing Saint Maximin? Perhaps it's simply that we've got much bigger problems to solve in other areas, which would be a fair comment I guess).
Seems very hit and miss. World class one day , poor and disinterested the next. We already have a lot of them. Although as a squad player be decent to add something different off the bench if needed. Will cost a fair whack

I don't even know who our back line is any more...

I'd have Reggie Rodon Toby Tanganga to bring us home to above the arse but below the Uefa Conference League.

Next season I'd have Reggie Rodon Anderson Tanganga but to be honest it doesn't matter as Skipp will be in front of them.

In that case with Skipp on the park I'd have a back four of Hitchen, Dele's brother, Mason, Doherty.
