Buendia can play in mid too, in case none of Alli GLC & Ndombele are cutting it in attacking mid.
Or do you think we need to buy another DM? I want Skipp to be given a shot at starting XI as he's a Spurs academy youngster.
I am desperate to see the back of Hojbjerg ( I thought it was a sad day for the club when we signed him), and I refuse to buy into the hype about Skipp until I've sat down and had a look at him for myself. Have a strong dislike for Alli. Would listen to offers for Lo Celso. Would also listen to offers for Ndombele, too, if I knew for sure that he was causing problems behind the scenes, but I'd be cheesed off because I think his potential is outrageous.

Last summer we were all excited about a front 3 of Kane, Son and Bale. 1 year on and it's looking like all 3 will be leaving. God really does hate Spurs fans
Fuck me, could you be more fatalistic? It looks like 1 might want to leave, whether he actually leaves remains to be seen, Son is pure speculation from some on here, and Bale, as it has been all season, is a case of if the club decide they want to extend the loan then it will probably happen...

In terms of tackles, Hojbjerg one of the highest in the PL:

Not great with the ball, but still useful to have in the team as long as his DM partner is a better passer.
I hope a good manager can get 2 of Ndombele GLC or Alli firing again. All 3 have indisputable talent.

Kane leaves, I don't think there's any way on the planet Levy doesn't bring back Bale.

I won't change your mind. I find myself getting hot under the collar, so I will just leave it.

I respectfully disagree. I think we have a massive problem in midfield.

I think a better manager can get better results from our midfield. I would love to see a young creative AM to be added even if it is just someone coming off the bench.

I also think that a switch away from the double pivot which doesn't suit any of our MFer's would help as well.

It would be great to upgrade, but unfortunately I think we have bigger needs elsewhere- 2 CB's, RB, RW, Forward at least.

Whatever people think about the technical qualities of our midfield options, I'd be surprised if they couldn't recognise the lack of athleticism there. But you never know.

I am not saying its perfect, I am just saying that it currently is near the bottom of the list of issues. In a vacuum where money and turnover isn't an issue I probably bring in 3 new guys plus Skipp.

I just think I would rather go with GLC, Ndombele, Skipp, PEH and fix some of the other spots on the team rather than rely on guys like Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Rodon, Bale, Bergwijn to be starters.

Maybe we can fix it all but I have my doubts.

So an assist and a goal and MOTM and he's still no good?
Hojbjerg big success this season and shame we didn't have a comparable player to back him up.

One good game should not outweigh his limitations.

I am not as down on him as others but there are clear limits to his abilities and it is not just because he has played too many minutes.

This is just the corner we've painted ourselves into. I want to take a fucking sledgehammer to this squad. I really do. I should go outside, and get some fresh air.

He does what it says on the tin. He has been great for us this season and will be better next season.

LOL

What does that even mean?

He will be better based on what? He is 25 years old and never been able to handle being pressured. Do you really think that over the summer he will develop the passing and/or ball carrying ability that he will be able to deal with the press and be able to take the ball from the back four and move it up the pitch?

Matic, McTominay and Fred are also quite shit technically; but yet Man United don’t get bossed consistently. Why?

To me, and I probably hammer on it too much, it is a problem we have had adding individual pieces rather than building a team and it is clear in the midfield. There is no formation that works well for the group we have. The players don't complement each other or work well together.

I would say that our top 4 MFers next year are likely to be GLC, Ndombele, PEH and Skipp. I don't see a good formation or style to have even 3 of those guys playing together. GLC and Ndombele don't work great together especially with PEH or Skipp as the 3rd guy with them. PEH and Skipp don;t work playing together unless Skipp has taken a massive step in terms of his overall play.

Part of this is likely transitioning from Poch to Jose to ???? but really there seems to be no thinking about how to work guys in, and it is a bigger issue than the MF, that we end up having guys looking worse rather than improving them.

I think that Fred is better technically than PEH, but they also are helped by having guys around them being much better off the ball. Guys like Fernandes, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, Cavani do a much better job of providing outlets.

I also think that United have similar problems to us, they often get static in the MF and rely on their top guys to create individually or Fernandes to save them with penalties.

To me, along with Ole, it is why they often struggle to adapt when their first plan does not work.

I am not a regular watcher of Man Utd, but I quite like Fred. I think the problem at United is the coaching. For me, ourselves and Man Utd are remarkably similar. We are not the sum of our parts, and getting by on moments of individual brilliance.
