Ditto last summer (the drop off between EL & ECL will be nothing like as big as from the CL to EL)....

Like I just said, the future is clearer now and we borrowed a bunch of money on a long term bond to cushion the blow of the C19 deficit.

So why not?

It's hardly a radical suggestion on my part.
Well if you’re right about £60M budget, we could have a sensational window and keep Kane.
£17M already raised from Toby and Foyth. Sevilla among some clubs interested in Sanchez, that could raise £23M.
Romano hinted that Everton and Villa were interested in Winks, he could raise £15M I reckon. Gold said Aurier likely to leave this summer, his price will be £10M.

So we’d have £65M in sales, and add £60M to that gives you £125M to play with.
Romero £45M, Lacroix £25M, Tomiyasu £17M. Around £40M to fund another attacker.

Bernardo wants to leave, and with Grealish at City he will basically get no game time at City, so will be easier to attract than Laporte. If Laporte wanted to come, that's a no brainer, but I doubt he will (especially as he can easily get back in first XI).

I disagree with you that it would leave holes in the team.
Bernardo can play in midfield, and is very hard working. I remember a couple of seasons ago he broke records in terms of distance covered for City in some big games. With his work rate, we can start Hojbjerg Bernardo Ndombele/GLC in mid.
Torres RW with £60M to fund Vlahovic leaves our attack very well balanced.

Defensive upgrades can hopefully be funded with sales of Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Aurier. £18M already in the bank from Foyth+ Toby. With not too much net spend we could bring in Romero, Lacroix, Aarons.
Bernardo wants out of the country I thought?

I just don't see Bernardo as the type of MF that we need if we are keeping Ndombele and GLC. I think he could fit into a role because he is talented enough but that isn't the best use of him and you either have someone like him or Ndombele in a pivot with PEH which doesn't work or PEH as the deep guy but one of the others having to go back to progress the ball up the pitch.

I also don't see Bernardo having much more interest in us over Laporte.

Bare in mind we've done 20m-odd on Gil already, but give or take some wiggle-room on the the price-tags you're quoting; yeh.

Just the other day; people were willing on the idea that we could get Vlahovic on an installment plan......

I dunno how likely that his, but 20m would represent a significnat 1st installment, no?

Alternatively Ings for 20-25m seems doable.

Just spitballing, but not sure what other names people are wanting to throw about atm.
