I've no issue with where the player comes from if I think he's good enough. Plus English tax. And he's played over 100 times (with a full PL season under his belt) at 21. Ollie Watkins cost Villa 28m + add ons he's likely to meet, he's 25. Benrahma (25) costing West Ham a 5m loan fee and 25m to make permanent. I think it's a very fair price at 30m given what players cost these days.
Benrahma was a cut above the championship though whereas Max Aarons is he even the best RB in the championship this season?

I get your point though perhaps I'm just being a bit harsh on Norwich.

Strong agree. Think his ability on the ball is very underrated, he's a a brilliant ball carrier and would offer us a lot. A lot of our problems stem from inability to play the ball around fluently in that Sissoko/Aurier/Dier/Toby quadrant, all slow and blocky in receiving the ball and doing anything with it.

Aarons carries, passes well, and his defensive work is pretty good, not perfect. Height an issue but at 21 I think if he kicks on a bit he could be a really top player.

Aarons reminds me of Walker, but without Walker's physicality - and for me that's not a great thing. He's quick, gets up and down well, but he's not very composed when he gets forward and he's pretty weak defensively.

I never rated Walker much as a footballer, he also was quick and got up and down really well, but lacked intelligence, lacked composure when getting forward, continually wasted good situations, and made terrible errors in how he read and positioned himself defensively, but had great speed and physique which allowed him to compensate and get away with them often.

Maybe I'm being harsh and the kid will evolve, but I've not watched him once and been overly impressed.

I also think you are being harsh on Aurier in that quadrant. His daft as brush, but technically he's much better/fluent than the other three.

I quite like the look of the young Spanish kid at Dortmund - Morey.

Aurier ain't a bad player, but we do need something more from our first choice in that position. There's just a rigidity in his possessional play that makes us really slow at building from the back. He's a good athlete but there's something very square about how he receives the ball and generally makes the easiest pass available to him.

I do think that's fair on Aarons around the box, improvement needed in final ball, though he doesn't actually cross the ball a huge amount for what I assume are tactical reasons. Pukki probably the only reasonable target in their front 4.

I think he's one of the best full-backs out there at playing between the boxes. I think he's a bit underrated defensively and looks a lot physically stronger to me this year. I dunno, I could be wrong about him but I think he's shaping up to be a really good player.

Haven't seen Morey a huge amount, was impressive the other night though. Keeping an eye on Tomiyasu(22) of Bologna recently and he's been good. As money is likely to be tight this summer it wouldn't surprise me if we went into next season with Aurier, Doherty and Tanganga as our options again.

it is an existential level crisis for Spurs if both of them leave in the same window, doesn't matter how much cash it would bring... not sure if there is any realistic player out there who can replace them

Every damn week I say this and every week it seems to be relevant

Whoever the manager. We must buy a new CB (probably 2) in this window. This team will not progress without a decent CB.
