This I would be fine with. He's grown into a good CB at Lyon and is one of their captains. Only 25 as well so yet to hit his peak years.

I'd like to state that I wasn't and that I knew he had seriously limitations and wouldn't fit in here. When Doherty signed for us, everyone on this forum was happy. With benefit of hindsight everything seems obvious.
I had watched Wolves quite a lot, and Doherty was fantastic at RWB. The issue was he's struggled a bit with the transition to RB.
For me it wasn't just stats, I saw him play for Wolves and he made really well timed runs into the box. It's not easy to have composure when in the final third, and Doherty had it time and time again when it counted for Wolves.I'd like to state that I wasn't and that I knew he had seriously limitations and wouldn't fit in here.
But I get the idea many fans were blindsighted by his stats which for me were 'false stats' as he got most of his G/A from set pieces or late runs into the box. Not something we are looking for from a RB.
Maybe but its clear to me our best system is a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 and I don't want to switch to a system just to play to an average players strengthsFor me it wasn't just stats, I saw him play for Wolves and he made really well timed runs into the box. If you remember, I called for us to switch to 3-5-2 when Doherty signed, just so both Reguilon and him could get further forward. Most disagreed with me at the time, and so did Jose unfortunately. Your criticism of him as a RB are fair.
Would be an absolutely crucial transfer this summer unless Dele steps up big time. The way he is speaking it sounds like he will be leaving in Summer
Hopefully its to us. Levy needs to make a reasonable offer and hopefully we can attract him here.
Remember the clamouring for Saido Berahino?Connor Wickham had half the world convinced he'd be the next Alan Shearer.
I think half the forum still hasn't gotten over not signing him.
Romagnoli is not completely out of the question. He seems to at least for now be out of the starting 11 at Milan in favour of Tomori (they do have a game tonight however so he could be back in for that one). And Milan are apparently looking to make Tomori's loan a permanent. We need to prioritise a left footed centre half this summer. We have lost the balance with Vertonghen gone.
Mings, Pau Torres, Romagnoli would all be good additons, although the latter is probably out of the question. Ake would have been ideal, but Man City aren't going to let him go.
