Lo Celso is a hard working number 8, not a creative 10, and was a player that the club clearly wanted regardless of whether Eriksen left or not.
And Sanchez as Jans replacement? Are you having a laugh? He played for 3 years with Jan and the club had ample time to see he was nowhere near good enough to be the long term answer for our defence.

Ever so slightly under two years older than Pope (will be 31 on Thursday whereas Pope turned 29 a couple of weeks ago) but dodging the English premium.
If the 11 million buyout clause is true then perhaps it's a relative bargain while money is a little tight post-covid. Going out and paying a king's ransom for Pope this summer wouldn't really solve our problems.
