Mourinho ensures Spurs’ season was wasted

Tottenham’s top-four challenge felt over after a 3-1 defeat to a promoted club in Yorkshire. For Sheffield United, read Leeds; for 2020, read 2021. But if some of the similarities are superficial, they nonetheless underline the way this has been a wasted year for Tottenham. They can still be overrun and outthought by better coached teams with more coherent gameplans. There are ways of illustrating Spurs’ underachievement, but one is to look at their achievers. Harry Kane has 21 league goals and 13 assists, Son Heung-min 17 and 10. Any team with two such potent players ought to be rather higher than seventh. It indicates the way others have been unproductive, that talents have been squandered or overlooked and that a defence with just six clean sheets in their last 24 league games have meant their goals have counted for too little. And, of course, it reflects on José Mourinho. Roma, take note. Richard Jolly

12 million is peanuts for Aurier honestly.

The more important thing than price with players like Aurier is moving them out of the club. Doesn't mean we shouldn't maximize their return but we need to move the deadwood out. Aurier seems to have some interest in him so should be one of the easier guys to move on from.

I would be willing to have a guy like Lavinier getting more minutes next year than watching Aurier again even if it meant a lower spot on the table. And that goes for lots of other guys in other positions as well.

Tottenham have told former manager Jose Mourinho not to bother trying to recruit England defender Eric Dier, 27, and 25-year-old Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Roma when he takes over in the summer. (Sun)

Mate I’m so done with it.
What the fuck are you watching? I don’t give a toss how many goals he’s scored against the bottom 10 and pig farmers this season.

He’s as big a bottle job as anyone else on that pitch
I kinda agree with this setiment

It pisses me off that fans say 'he deserves better' when in our big games he always goes missing

But no way do we sell him.

Most goals and most assists and even though he's been poor recently against better opposition he is one of the only few players capable.

It does concern me how poor he's been in big games when worse players do better than him and how most of the other top 6 strikers can do better in those big moments. But he's class. No way do you sell him.

So, given our wonderful calm, settled management situation, it looks like Levy will be doing the buying so.....
Looking for players who could be relegated, so would be grateful

Ariola, Andersen, Andrissa from Fulham
Johnson, Pereira from WBA
Berger from Sheff U

They are really, really well run.
It doesn't even take vast amounts of money to do. If someone at the top of the club has the vision to set up a smooth operation and can resist sticking their nose in its operations...

... then we could easily do what Leicester are in terms of recruitment.

While I'll also accept that they've known when to/have been willing to sell their 'top' assets and get a premium for them, the Mahrez and Maguire money is easily exceeded by our operational profits compared to theirs.
