Article in The Athletic today addressed to any club expecting a major clear-out of bad contracts and unwanted players this summer. I know it's behind a paywall, so here's the TL;DR:

Nobody is buying your (our) deadwood this summer. If you're expecting a clear-out, prepare for disappointment.
Bet they are wrong. Here's my dirty ITK but it will make some happy. We have received solid offers for Winks and Sanchez. Heard nothing about ANY other player including the high profile ones . Aurier 100% open to move but did not force because guess what he wanted to "help" a team he has love for....😳

People underrate Winks a bit, he'll be decent for a team that's not expected to win every week. Southampton, Palace, Norwich, Brighton, Newcastle all decent fits for him. We undervalue how getting 5/6 games in a row into the legs gets a player into a groove, and we haven't afforded that to several of our players this year.

Toney is the one from the championship, ended up with the most goals in a season and also got double figures in assists as well.
Probably depends if Brentford get promoted or not.
Toney would be a good signing as well. Armstrong has been doing it for seasons, both deserve a chance in the Premier League.

Mad to think Newcastle let both go for pittance.

Armstrong is the next vardy imo. Probably englands quickest forward now
I think he'd be a smart signing. Someone who can get beyond the last man, scores for fun and still young. £20m would be good money for him.

Genuinely think we don't need to go and sign world superstars. We have a decent enough squad, just some deadwood to get rid of and bring in some players with the right attitude.

Bring in

Armstrong
Bissouma
Anderson
Aarons
Bale (loan)

Sell

Sanchez
Sissoko
Aurier
Lamela

Then look at the likes of Winks, Lo Celso, Dier. If decent offers come in, sell them.

Sander Berge apparently has a £12m release clause due to relegation.

Wouldn't be against him as a signing. Would prefer Bissouma. Also like the lad at Fulham, Anguissa.
I wonder what Levy thinks, the cheap signing with a clause for a team that just got relegated or the perfect signing for our squad that will cost a small fortune? This is the problem.

He'll probably Sign Potter to manage us, he will ask for Bissouma and get Berge.

The cycle continues.

Continuous cycle.

Enquire for Schniederlin, sign Stambouli.

Enquire for Mane, sign N'Koudou.

Said it multiple times. Kane Son and Max lots of pace and skill
Missed this last week. Not that it's really 'news' as such. Saint Maximin would be a really exciting signing, but a shame the story is nothing other than an ex-player saying he could see it happening. Would really love to see the rumour mill start going to town on this one... it's not as if we don't have a great history of signing legendary tricky dribbling type players from Newcastle...

Not sure this is correct.

Lots of foreign clubs will be interested.

For example Lamela will always have suitors in Italy COVID or not.

Perhaps they won't be bought if we overprice them or expect too much. We can get them gone if we're sensible about it.
