Why would we be looking for new players before we bring in a new manager?

Is Itchings and Levy really the men picking the personnel??

In the modern game a club's transfer business has to extend beyond just the gaffer going out and signing players.

The managerial hire should reflect the club's transfer strategy, not the other way around.

All of that said, the manager should absolutely have a voice in the process, and it has been refreshing to see the club wanting to get this done quickly, presumably for that purpose.

I'd have none to be honest. I like his effort and he has natural ability, but the squad needs a purge and he's the right age to make a decent fee. Not a player you can really plan much around as his standout quality is just instinctive blind alley runs 3/4 times per game. Doubt his usefulness especially if we bring in a coach valuing possession.

Yeah I'd say players like Lucas fit in the "good gets in the way of great" category. Absolutely golden on their day but are they rrreeeallly who we want if we're gonna be a top top side?

Would've been really interesting to see him loaned out this past season!

I really want him to kick on and cement a starting place in the next couple seasons

In my heart I already have high hopes for him, but you're right that they're not really based on much more than his Liverpool debut & the fact he seems a good bloke

Did you see Burnley's first goal the other night? His lack of mobility summed up in one passage of play. Other than that, there are plenty of positives. His long-range passing can be outstanding. He is physically strong, seems to read the game well and is a talker. Don't know if I am being harsh in saying this, but when I watched him, I thought he had a bad habit of going to ground and getting it badly wrong.

I've said it before but one of those is worth ten highlights videos with shit music.

When I did them, I didn't do them for laughs. I did them because I was beside myself at the idea of signing certain players. I wanted people to see what I saw; characteristics that frightened and disgusted me. I could do more of them, but it's not a rewarding experience, really. I don't think I ever changed anyone's mind about PEH. I think I have already picked out clips of Andersen, but the thing is that I am not frothing at the idea of signing him.

Out of curiosity, do you have any particular players in mind?

Oh I wasn't being funny. I think they are brilliant. Literally Sissoko could look good in a highlights package so it's the lowlights which are what we need to expect. You can't trust the incumbent fans word because they are jilted lovers and aren't objective.

No particular players in mind personally but I have seen us linked with Anderson. I haven't really watched much of Fulham this season so I wouldn't really know.

I'm sure it's not rewarding for you wading through clogger games, but I think they are fantastic. I can't stand highlight videos.

Where is that PEH one? Cause I was possibly in the same boat as you that we should have been after a more focused DM rather than PEH.

I have watched a lot of Fulham this year. Andersen is Dier in marking and Toby in terms of passing range. He does have a range of passing that will remind people of Toby, but he is not the strongest in terms of organizing and positioning

Would like to watch the PEH one, maybe a 2020/21 remix because he’s been fucking hopeless bar a few decent games 9 months ago
