I guarantee you, Levy does want to sell. He wants as much money as possible, not a disinterested player.
He'll no start sanctioning purchases and try to extract as much as he can out of City at the last minute.

We won't hear anything from anywhere other than "not for sale"

As I've said, I'm not against selling.

I'm against just folding at the first sign a player/club press us and just giving them what they want.

It's a costly thing to do, something you'll be paying for for years.

If he goes, it must be on our terms. And it must cost him and city, it needs to be clear it's not easy to just poach our players for whatever you're prepared to offer.

By the way, in case you were aching to know or thinking of bunking off work to watch the Spain-Japan Olympic semi-final, neither Bryan nor Tommy (who sound like two lovable rogues from Brookside) feature, not even on the bench.

Kane's actions have swung the supporters behind the club fully.

Yep.Made Daniel look like the good guy

Are you two having a laugh?
It's like saying a wife beater has been made to look good because his mrs has dumped him for a decent bloke.

Levy is a massive greedy cunt who's only goal is to make as much money put of OUR club as possible.

Build a "world class stadium" - and make as much as possible every year whilst paying back as little as possible in the process.

Hype the academy to either use or sell as many players to save/make money.

Buy up land and build money making facilities on them.

All whilst barely breaking even every single window for 20 years

Interesting angle on Talksport now.
Is Levy effectively pushing Kane into this behaviour to male Kane the bad guy and win support for himself..

I've felt since the Berbatov saga that Levy likes to make the player look like the bad guy.
Does it happen elsewhere?

I agree. And to me, our problems the past few seasons are mainly due to our overestimating the importance of keeping hold of our star players and inability to sell at the right time. What if we had sold Rose, Alli and Eriksen when they were in their prime? We'd have 200 million pounds more to spend on replacements and on improving our squad. At the same time, we'd show the greatest talents in the world of football that Spurs is a club where they can develop into superstars and be allowed to move on to the clubs at the very top if they perform well enough.

We achieved too much success and got blinded by the dream of silverware. We are not big enough to act like RM, Man Utd or BM yet. We need to be more like Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.

Agree with everything else, though not with one specific example.

Not like Dortmund for sure.
They are a whorehouse, pardon my French...

Unable to actually keep their stars in reasonable conditions. Come on, Haaland is up-and-coming star now, but they lost their best player of recent period in Lewa for free. They have lost massive list of very good players for under-the-market prices - starting from Barrios to Kagawa to Hummels to Gotze to Mhkitaryan to Hakimi to Gundogan.

Only significant good piece of business was sale of Dembele to Barca. Pulisic, Auba and Sancho feel like being sold for roughly market value.

A Swede on Twitter, basically saying:
Gabriel Zamagna is in Malmö to complete the deal on Anel Ahmedhodzic, a CB who plays for Malmö FF; while Satori remained in Italia to solve the Romero deal

if a player wants to leave, he’s the bad guy. For all your moaning about enic /levy, you haven’t put forward a coherent argument about what can be done differently. This is how football works now, it’s a investment first, glory machine second. No magic money trees without murderers at the wheel.

im not a fan boy of levy, but I don’t want oligarch money and I don’t want players to leave.

This is not realistic. There are are very few clubs that don't sometimes have to sell their best players. Utd had to sell Ronaldo at his peak. Liverpool sold Suarez and Coutinho etc.

Our model should be something like Athletico Madrid, who've shown its possible to compete for the top prizes and take profits on star players. If we'd planned for his sale we could have recruited accordingly. Guys like Patson Daka were available. Now if he goes we'll be trying to find replacements with the clock ticking. We should have identified a succession plan months ago.

Wait, what is not realistic :D ?

What I said is that we should focus on Tottenham Hotspur situation rather than Harry Kane situation, take 160 mil and reinvest it. I felt you said the same thing, didn't you :) ?

I don't advocate violence but Hercules makes me seriously reconsider.

Totally agreed with this.

I guess it is some weird kind of coping mechanism but on some weird level I'd be open to see Kane sold for 160 mEUR. He is obviously best striker I've seen to play for Spurs. He is world class and has ability to read and influence the game on another level to others.

But people focus too much on Harry Kane situation and too little on Tottenham Hotspur situation. If player wants to go we have to make sure he leaves on terms which is acceptable for us + we have to act wisely in replacing him.
I honestly don't think that's coping. I fully believe that 150m or so for Kane spent wisely can make us a more balanced team than we currently are. It was great watching him top the PL goals and assists last season but that isn't sustainable - we need creativity all over the pitch and goals from various sources.

In the PL for 20/21 we had Kane scoring 23 goals and Sonny scoring 17 - but look at how fucking awful we were overall. Who was Chelsea's top goalscorer?..

Jorginho. On sodding penalty duty. With 7.
