Kind of agree with most of what you are saying. Only part I can't agree with is that Leicester luck.
I would say that over past 4-5 years or so Leicester track record of acquiring talent has been significantly superior to ours, nothing to do with luck. Last true and massive success story was Wanyama. After that we have not got our money worth.

20/21 - 110 mEUR - Hjojberg now seems to be on the path of astute purchase, given the price we paid for him.
But other last season purchases - Doherty, Rodon, Regulion - I'd say jury is still very much out.
19/20 - 148,5 mEUR - Clarke, Sessegnon, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Lo Celso - up to now jury still out, but for first 3 we shipped out combined of 62 m pounds, and we have got almost nothing in return, might change in the future ofc
18/19 - 0EUR - no additions
17/18 - 123,5 mEUR - Sanchez, Aurier, Foyth, Gazza, Llorente, Moura
16/17 - 83,5 mEUR - Sissoko, Wanyama, Jannssen, Nkoudou

20/21 - 58 mEUR- Castagne, Fofana
19/20 - 104,3 mEUR - Justin, Perez, Tielemans, Praet
18/19 -114,6 mEUR - Evans, Maddisson, Pereira, Ward, Söyüncü, Benkovic, Ghezzal
17/18 - 88,4 mEUR - Maguire, Iborra, Silva, Iheanacho, Jakupovic
16/17 - 92,1 mEUR -Zieler, Mendy, Musa, Slimani, Ndidi

Those made in bold are massive successes in their books. It is total of NINE slam-dunks.
I would say that Hjojberg and Castagne go into same category + before injury Wanyama was very useful for us. Even counting them we have got humiliated with score of 9:2. Totally different worlds. And EIGHT out of them are currently still playing for Foxes. Maguire was sold for 73 mEUR profit (!).
And other eight cost total of 190 mEUR but are now worth roughly 320 mEUR (!)
If we add Maguire numbers and already profits taken, it would be 204 mEUR paid and 407 mEUR worth / recouped.

Total sum spent - 465 mEUR us ; 457 mEUR them.
So literally we have spent more than them and still got miserably beaten.

If we leave Maguire out who was sold on, now tell me.
Would you rather have Fofana or Rodon?
Would you rather have Söyüncü or Sanchez?
Would you rather have Pereira or Aurier?
Would you rather have Tielemans or Ndombele?
Would you rather have Maddisson or Moura?
Would you rather have Ndidi or Sissoko?

All of them purchased during same period with total expenditure in the same region, all of them still at clubs.

Conclusion - we have not been cheap per se. We have spent the same amount of money. But Leicester scouting department has been so much more efficient and cleaver while we have more or less burned the money.

all of the transaction and current values are based on Transfermarkt data, I did not make them up myself. If some values are over or understated I'd assume they would even out over such sample size already
This is really good comparison, but to avoid confusion, I was only saying they were lucky in their 2016 EPL winning season. I agree it's probably being more shrewd, but I have no idea if they simply have a better scouting network or not. To some degree, it has to be luck, right?

All those purchases wouldn't have been possible if they were still just, y'know, Leicester...

But it's undeniable that they've had much better transfers since. You could also argue that letting our sports science head go to Liverpool really helped them get ahead. Still fucks me off, that.

It is a reliability scale that the twitter account quoting them has developed. He's gone through a bunch of their ITK and calculated how much of it that actually happened to try to determine how reliable each ITK are.

1 is very reliable. 5 is not at all.

So anyone who got a 1 dressed up an already known link nicely once upon a time. All their subsequent incorrect bets didn't pay off nor does anyone chose to count them.
5 is basically the speshul kids being included in the conversation. "Yes Jonnny, you can be an ITK too, you can be any anything you want"

Once a fee for Kane is agreed.
We will not be signing an expensive striker unless Kane is gone/going. There may be an overlap but this guy is the replacement, not the partner.

Full sleeve. Must be the real deal.

Athletic:

Spurs are keen to sell Davinson Sanchez and bring in another centre-back this window.

Bologna's Takehiro Tomiyasu, who can play as a central defender and right-back, is expected to join this month once the Olympics have finished.

If he plays right-back that would leave Eric Dier and Joe Rodon, as well as a potential new arrival, battling it out to be Romero's defensive partner.

A real shame as if not for the Kane debacle, I think we'd be having a great transfer window.

Finally a signing who could improve our first 11. Look forward to seeing how he does in PL, hopefully will be much better than Foyth and Fazio.

Paratici can swiftly move on to our next key signings for RB, CB & Striker. Season starting very soon with very little ins and outs.

He will always want to avoid being accused of being a seller and only in it for the money.
Which he so very obviously is.

Why did he offer to match Eriksen's inter offer then? you're full of shit, the best way for Levy to make money is by Spurs being successful. we've constantly turned down bids for players like Dier and Dele cause levy didn't want to sell.

Fergie said he was a nightmare to deal with but only wanted what was best for Spurs. he's only sold players who gave him no other option. even managed to keep Modric basically against his will but "he's only about the money, sell sell sell"

he's made mistakes and taken the cheap option and been infuriating at times but that doesn't make it black or white. we also went from mid table to a regular CL team under his tenure.

he's the other thing - bar Leicester/City and Chelsea - every fan thinks their owner is shit and should be spending more more and thinks they have a flying fucking clue about the financies of a multi million poud football club, you don't have a clue.

was it Arcespace who said - "LEVY PAY THE FUCKING MONEY FOR ROMERO" but if he does sign it's in spite of Levy? haha! you couldn't make it up . so dogmatic, so black and white, so stupid.
