He has more yellow cards than goals for Wolves!

FFS is that so hard to fathom out?

Why do we need a non productive, none goal scoring, lump of lard winger to add to the ones we already have, or do you want us to corner the market in them?
Because the number of goals he creates is more than the number of goals he scores.

Stop looking at the stats. He takes defenders on, occupies 2 at once, which leaves rest of attack in far more space.

We were third in the league in goals scored, so it wasn’t our necessarily our most pressing problem compared to game management and playing style.

Kane’s 23 goals were only his 4th highest career output in a league season, he could score more if he had less of a creativity burden. Moura, Bergwijn, Dele, and Lo Celso combined for 6 league goals which if it happens again we’ll be in deep shit regardless of who we bring in. Each one of those players have a history as double digit goal scorers.

I personally think we have plenty of potential for goal scoring in the team. Traore as a creative threat on the right pulling defenders away from Kane and Son, plus another creative midfielder (which I think might be our number one need) would be a much more balanced creative and goal scoring side. Traore and Aouar/McKennie would give us a lot of options. Cherry on top being another striker.

The problem wasn't the total number of goals but the fact we couldn't score with Kane and Son not being on. If they went cold our offense was shit. We need a way to score goals outside of Kane and Son, and I see nothing from Traore that gives us that chance.

Traore isn't a creative threat though, that is the problem. His supporters, you included, have said look what he does with a striker like Jimenez. That isn't him creating goals on his own that is him needing a guy like Jimenez (or in our case Kane/Son) to finish.

I think you add Traore we are still in the same spot we are now reliant on them to score. I don't see Traore adding more goals to the team because he won't score them and we don't have players he is likely to improve their scoring.

Actually the Telegraph is reporting that we may bid £40M for him.
Also his previous clubs don't mean he's a poor player.

Yes he can do that but then needs a short pass to another player to create the chance. Most of the time he does around someone he misses Jimenez with the pass.

His previous clubs don't necessarily mean he is a bad player but clubs have seen what he has to offer and nobody is coming in to get him despite him being able to run around defenders like that. There are lots of players who are playing for weak teams that are above that level but Traore has shown nothing to indicate that his level is anything above Wolves. It is a good fit for him because they need his few moments of brilliance to help them and when he is useless for 35 of the other games it doesn't matter because the player they would replace him with is not great anyways. For us we can get much better players that can give us what we need and aren't useless 90% of the time.

The video doesn't play in my country. If it is from the game just let me know what minute and I can watch it back.

He hasn't shown that ability in the past and our MFers haven't shown much ability to score outside of GLC at Betis.

As you said earlier he isn't coming so we are wasting time going over this, I just can't see how anyone can think Traore helps this club. I think there is a clear reason why he has been at clubs like Middlesborough and Wolves his whole career.

Here's a copy of it.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. With his athletic ability there’s no reason why he can’t rip any FB to shreds all game across the season.

The fact he’s played for Wolves has limited him at times, not the other way around. He carries them at times, but can’t finish.

Yep and we can see from the statistics that he has high % pass accuracy.
You put him in a team with Kane and Son and it’d be absolute carnage.
Not only does he create chances, but the chances he creates are easier as other attackers are in way more space.

In terms of expected assists (xA) and shot creating actions, two statistics not reliant on the finishing of teammates, Traore over the past three seasons has profiled extremely similar to Son. Both in the 80th percentile of attacking midfielders and wingers in Europe’s top 5 leagues.

Combine that with his crazy dribbling, and the fact we have two clinical finishers, and it’s a scary prospect.

Son without the goals = £40m???

Yikes! :lamelashock:

Going back to the main issue - even if we do sign Traore who's going to get him the ball? We need a creative player, not another winger that can't finish.

He scored TWO goals in 37 games last season and 14 assists in 142 games in his pro career!

That's one assist every eleven games or three a season and all of this, for we are told, just forty million of Levy's best pounds.

It's all here in the link below, in glorious colour, and yet we should all "stop looking at the stats"

But he doesn't rip FB's to shreds very often. Ask Wolves fans they are frustrated with him more often than not. Today he tore our FB to shreds and it led to nothing because he rarely can beat a FB and make the correct play after doing so.

When I have watched Wolves, and I watched them more during his supposed good season, I can't think of a time he carried them.

You put him on a team with Kane and Son and we pull our hair out watching him put passes 5 yards behind them.

It's not scary.

His decision making and technique in the final third is woeful. He's not going to pick perfect layoffs to Son and/or Kane as much as he's going to punt the ball into row Z half the time.
This is true. His shooting isn’t his only weakness, he can’t execute intricate through balls/ weighted passes.

But did you see the GIF I linked? He can dribble past the full back and then deliver a simple cut back to another attacker in the penalty area.

His passing accuracy % is quite high, so it’s not like he misplaces every pass.
I just think with Kane and Son in the team, who would the opposition mark? It would be a nightmare to defend against. Kane and Son would end up with not just more chances, but more time and space to line up shots.
