Everything you just said is so rosetinted it’s actually hilarious.

Romero looks a prospect sure, but he’s had one standout season in his career so far and was never very highly rated prior to this season, so much so that Juve were happy to sell him. I of course hope he turns into the beast we all believe he can, but as of now I’ll reserve judgement and personally don’t believe he provides an upgrade on Alderweireld.

Gil tbf is an upgrade on Lamela and looks a real prospect, but Sarr is someone none of us have seen play and is a hit and hope signing that won’t help us for some time even if he does become a big player.

And I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but Emerson is most certainly not a fast and attacking full back. If that’s your description of him then I can tell straight away you’ve never seen him play.

Then we have the deadwood situation and although it’s fantastic Sissoko is gone, we still have Aurier, Doherty, Sanchez, Dier, Winks and a clearly perpetually unsettled Ndombele on our books with no prospect of any of them leaving.

So while it can be painted as a very solid window, when you dig a little deeper it’s really quite disappointing.
Everything you've just said is so pessimistic it's actually depressing. You simply chose to find flaws, whereas I chose to ignore them and smile like a maniac. Cheer up misery-guts!

I've done the same 'watched an hour of highlights' as you have so no need to be condescending. He's faster than doc and slightly more attacking than Aurier, mainly due to his crosses.

Yeah, I don't rate windows based on who we shift, my bad. I just wanted Sissoko gone and I still have hope for Tanguy, even though it's faint by now. I knew we weren't shifting Doc or Winks and I like Aurier, even though he brain farts, he can deliver sometimes. Wouldn't be sad to see him go, but happy we've upgraded. Of course, time will tell, but that's never not true.

Only signing Emerson only brings this window just above average 6/10 - still not good enough and gaping holes left in our forward position

signing Emerson and Traore improves it dramatically too 8/10 - gives us that ferocious forward option

signing Emerson, Traore and Neves represents an excellent window , 9/10 - gives us all options in key areas

unfortunately I have no faith in the 9/10 window because we lack the ambition needed

Agreed - years of lies and false promises ahead of record profits and thieving from honest fans

Look at Poch now - and look at us finishing below Wham like jokers

Everything Poch predicted has come true - ENIC is a cancer on this great club

I was always on the fence with transfers in the Poch era. Was the lack of activity Levy being tight, Poch not being much of a scout or Poch not liking older, established players.

The PSG signings totally disprove the latter theory. He doesn't need to be a scout to know their signings are good players, so it could still be that.
But I'd still put my money on Levy making him work with his hands tied behind his back.

I'd have happily taken Ings, but I don't see why their window should be seen as better than ours....

Especially when you consider they lost their star man and we kept ours.

Kane stays.
Romero > Ageing Toby
Emerson > Doherty/Aurier.
Gollini > Hart
+ Bags of potential in Gil & Sarr
+ ???

vs

Grealish gone.
Ings - Solid signing
Beundia - Decent player.
Bailey - ????
+ ???

United have done the headline deals.
Chavs/Lukaku probably the biggest impact.
.....After that we've done as good - if not better - than anyone esle.
HERE HE IS - right on cue around mid-day to start stoking the ENIC fire as we race toward midnight and another series of fake bids

WE SHOWED AMBIISSSIOON !!!

Poch is a winner and will retire as a top coach one day - while Levy will retire as a billionare

It'll be Emerson and nothing else but as a beginning to the great refit of the squad I'm happy with our dealings. Let's see who has money to spend in January and flog a few more off, then pick up a cheeky bargain ourselves.

On with the season.

It seems that's the case. Redknapp was never properly backed when his team was peaking and just needed a little more either

You can be positive about what we've done, i think its good to go for younger players. You can accept that getting another midfielder was nigh on impossible with Winks and Ndombele not budging. But a forward/ goal scoring winger not coming in is diabolical. We have 2 players that can score goals in our squad and no one to rotate them with.

Can't all the whining wankers stay on the Levy / Enic thread - same shit different threads just how boring are some posters?

At least they stay off the match day threads - of course they are all praying for us to lose - then three weeks of pent up whining will pour out .... sadly you all know I'm right.

And cash. Poor league form and no champions league coupled with covid has fucked that too.

It's going to take more than a summer window for Paratici to fix the holes.
