It does get annoying as fuck though. You continuously disagree with my posts, which is all well and good and your prerogative, but when someone doesn't even give their opinion as to why most of the time it does become a bit of a ball ache.

He was backed to the hilt in his first window after taking over and we were hovering around the bottom 3.

The threat of major financial losses seemed to wake Levy up.
The promise of additional income (CL) doesn't really seem to tickle his fancy. Top half of the PL and any form of Europe and he's happy with us ticking over on minimal spend.

And I think fundamentally that's the reason it is so frustrating watching this club in the last 4-5 years.
We've been on the cusp a few times and lacked that little bit of extra ambition to push us on.
Everyone can see it, we aren't that far off getting back into that top 4, maybe 2 very good signings and we are in with a shot.

It never quite materialises.

I've done the same 'watched an hour of highlights' as you have so no need to be condescending. He's faster than doc and slightly more attacking than Aurier, mainly due to his crosses.

Yeah, I don't rate windows based on who we shift, my bad. I just wanted Sissoko gone and I still have hope for Tanguy, even though it's faint by now. I knew we weren't shifting Doc or Winks and I like Aurier, even though he brain farts, he can deliver sometimes. Wouldn't be sad to see him go, but happy we've upgraded. Of course, time will tell, but that's never not true.

Mate, I admire your optimism I really do. But failed transfer window after failed transfer window after failed transfer window has just driver every bit of optimism from me.

In years gone by I genuinely used to force myself to believe that we were doing things right and knew what we were doing but it’s just impossible to think like that anymore!

Where has happy clapping ENICs ineptitude and “smiling like a maniac” as you put it gotten us in recent years?

ENIC have proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are clueless lying morons when it comes to the football side of things over the last number of years and for that reason I’m not going to sit here and pretend all is rosy. I’m going to call things as they are and be a realist.

I've seen Sarr play, and I have to say his potential is mouthwatering, and I'm not really the type of person who does excitement. This particular deal says to me at least there is some semblance of a strategy at this club.
