Agree with that. He slots straight back in and is almost a bit of a bonus signing. Allows us to spend money elsewhere. I'd really try and move Moura on this summer though and i think we will.

Considering CL will demand big depth, I reckon it's best to keep him for one more year and then let him head back to Brazil on a freebie with all our thanks for the memories.

Yeh much as I have sympathy with Brentford I would do everything to steal him back.

I think the Brentford thing is being overplayed (by the media as much as anyone here)... It's a mutually beneficial deal.... He'll leave having played a big part in helping them stay up. Win/Win.

WH still love Tevez & Mascherano for saving their ass.

What doesn't make sense?

Sanchez is a complete liability. Our starting centerback trio right now is Davies-Dier-Romero, and Davies is the weakest link in that chain. Sanchez doesn't have a place anywhere near our starting lineup, so sell him and replace him with a left-sided centerback that can possibly displace Davies and improve our depth. Kill two birds with one stone. Holding on to Sanchez makes absolutely zero sense given his performances and lack of growth.

Same thing with Winks. He's a passenger in midfield. He's a liability even as injury cover. Replace him with someone who can push Hojbjerg, and again you're improving our depth and possibly killing two birds with one stone.

If this doesn't make sense to you then you're a simpleton.

I’m all for selling Sanchez but if we are selling Rodon as well and only bringing in a left sided CB will would be left with only Dier Davies Romero ,the new signing and a injury prone and inconsistent Tanganga, so if we do sell Sanchez snd Rodon we would have to bring in another squad player

this opinion is so spot on. Sanchez will make us money and he is not good enough to be a starter. Winks needs to leave too

We need to stay away from players like Maddison, players like him are far too expensive because they are English and playing for PL clubs. If we are going to sign someone like him we should be signing them before they explode, not after. We should be looking at the best young players in the Championship (like Maddison, Bowen, Grealish etc were) and signing them for £20m not waiting until they take the PL by storm and then paying £60m for them.

We could get Lewis-Potter from Hull, Djed Spence from Boro and Madueke from PSV altogether for the same price we'd have to pay for Maddison/Lamptey etc.

Madueke would be closer to at least £30m. The hype around him has faded a bit lately. Part of that reason I think is due to Jadon Sancho's lack of impact at Man UTd (who people tended to compare him with): he's not put the EPL on fire as he was expected to (well, he's still young so I won't count him out).
Besides the fact Maddison would be very expensive, he isn't really the type of player Conte is looking nor is he the type of personality Conte is looking for.

One disgruntled fan, unable to contain his emotions at the 24-year-old’s alleged lack of respect, decided to make his feelings known on talkSPORT.

He told the radio phone-in: “James Maddison, who was substituted, came on the pitch cracking jokes, fangirling over [Harry] Kane, even players like [Heung-min] Son who he’s probably never met in his life… how disrespectful is that to what’s just happened today?

“I know we’re lucky to have a player like Maddison, but you guys only see the highlight reel, when you watch him week in, week out, he’s so frustrating.

“Since his injury and his discipline from that despicable action when he went to that party, it’s like we’ve been playing with ten men!

“If he’d have played in the FA Cup final, this would have been a disastrous season, make no mistake.

“He’s taken no responsibility, he got hooked at 62 minutes and he’s on the pitch laughing and joking and hugging Kane?"

Indeed.

One doesn't need to be a huge fan.... Anyone that thinks we should sell Davies doesn't understand squad building.

Ditto those who think we should sell both RBs or both LBs this summer.
Real Madrid may take up the buy-back option on Reguilon though.
My only concern about Sessegnon is injuries. I don't know whether it's just back or if his physique is like (fex., similar to Bale). If it's later I would sell him (hoping some club would be willing to take the risk...)

Watching this Brentford game, Eriksen would be a great signing on a free, either as cover for Kulusevski or giving us a different option in centre midfield. Still got the quality for a squad role.
Eriksen is aiming for the WC in Qatar and if he doesn't play regularly he may not make the Danish WC squad. And I doubt he'll be a regular starter at Spurs - unless he can play very effectively in a CM-2.

Mandueke will only go where he is given the chance to play every week. It's why he went to Holland because the path to the first team was clearer and easier. We now have Kulusevski in Mandueke's preferred position so he will only be a squad player here.

Darwin Núñez was heavily linked to Spurs recently (by the press only)...but I bet Levy must have coughed on his coffee seeing the asking price 😁

Man Utd and Woolwich transfer target Darwin Nunez valued at £113m by Benfica boss as he’s compared to Joao Felix

DARWIN NUNEZ has been valued at a whopping £113million by his Benfica boss.
Nelson Verissimo compared his current star to former ace Joao Felix.

Felix famously left the Stadium of Light for Atletico Madrid for £113m in 2019.

And now it is Nunez being linked with a similar big-money move away.

Manchester United and Woolwich are leading the chace for his signature.

But they have been warned they will need to stump up the mega bucks to land him.

Reports suggest Nunez's release clause is £127m but the Portuguese giants may be willing to sell for slightly less than that.

Quizzed on his striker's future and potential transfer fee, interim boss Verissimo said: "What do you think? Darwin is an excellent player, he has shown all his quality.

"He has helped the team a lot, it is true the team has also helped him a lot.

"He is a young player with a lot of potential.

"Given what has been his growth throughout this season and also a lot as an outcome of the performance he has had in the Champions League games, it is natural that he arouses the interest of the big European clubs.

“It will be at the end of this season or the following season, depending on what it has shown.

"Naturally there may be the timing in which he goes.

"Now regarding numbers, I hope as a Benfica fan that he will leave for numbers close to those that were Joao Felix's numbers (a record £113m fee).

"Now it's not for me to enter numbers on that question."

Nunez has enjoyed a stunning season with Benfica this term.

The nine-cap Uruguay international has smashed in 24 goals in 24 league games, including his third hat-trick of the campaign yesterday.

On top of that, he grabbed two in the Allianz Cup and his strike against Liverpool in midweek was his fifth in the Champions League.

United and Woolwich are both in the market for a new No9 this summer and have sent scouts to watch him in action.

And their hopes of landing Nunez took a boost when he confirmed his split with his agent.

Keep Bergwijn this summer and sell Moura. Moura is a sentimental favourite but he, Son and Kane are not spring chickens anymore and this could be our last chance to earn a bit of decent cash for him.

Bergy is young and needs more minutes, which he will get next year regardless if we get into Champions or Europa Leagues.

Agree. We play up from the back. Sanchez is not bad a defender but too shaky with the ball. Will get target pressed all the time. We have a deadly strike force for more than 24 months now. One of the reasons why we are still where we are is because of our shaky defence. Sanchez (and even Tanganga) contributed to that shakiness. Sell if we can get around 25 mil

Maddison linked today. Good player and we dont really have anyone like him in the squad but he seems a flash sod who i'm not sure would suit the current set up.
Read that Conte wanted to bring a no 10 in and let Kane stays in the box. Maddison can play that no 10.

But I hope Kane continues to play that redrawn role, and not bring him back to no 9. Here is why:

Managers will ask their best defender to mark Kane. Kulu and Son start wide, hence will occupy their full backs. When Kane drops deep and ping balls in, their best defender will not be in the box defending. That leaves space for Son or Kulu to run into. If a new no 10 comes in and play balls into the box for Kane, their best defender will still in in the box defending. The tactical advantage of Kane being no 10 will be gone.
