Well, let's imagine that you are a financial analyst in small regional bank. Your peers are not the brightest lads and you believe you will overtake them in few years time. You earn 5000 £ per month.
Now Barclays comes knocking. They would offer you 50 000£ per month starting from tomorrow. Your position would be junior analyst (so below your current position) in sector that is not your biggest interest area.

Wouldn't you take this offer?

Davies can play LWB if need be.
 
Conte’s type of player is tall, strong, skillful, good in attack and defense ready to have an immediate impact. Going by this type it’s easy to eliminate players we are being linked with such as Gordon who is too small and may not be ready to make immediate impact for price tag we could get someone closer to Conte’s type of player. I think we will sign a player no one is even thinking of someone like Griezmann or someone like that (yes I know he’s not 6ft!but you get the point!)

Sarr is a good shout, always thought he played well against us.

I thought he already agreed a deal and was surprised at how low the price was, if it fell through I think it could be a good punt.

Honestly, maybe an option at WB too.

Edit: reading a bit of Watford opinions on him, seems maybe he has a bad attitude and was poor for large stretches of last season. So maybe not.

Gordon's best option is probably staying at Everton one more season, them with 2 years left on his contract he's best placed to say to Everton 'pay me what I'm worth or I'm not signing another contract'.

And at the same time get his agent to talk to bigger clubs about buying him for £40m+

That way he's set up for life if he believes in himself.

Or go to Chelsea and follow Ross Barkley (still only 28) into oblivion (and low wages) after a few years of not playing football.

I would like Zaha as I think he would make an immediate impact imagine taking off Kulu or Son and bringing on Zaha! That would be excellent depth son and Zaha would present a major threat in behind defenses.

"Moura is more of a striker"?!?! Where does that come from?
He has been tried there.

But ~90% of the time he has been playing on the wing.
He does not provide similar G/A compared to Kulu, but neither do likes of Malinovsky, Gordon, Traore or Zaniolo - so that point seems kind of moot.

Richalidson has played at least 25 games in English football as right winger, from ~190 total so ~13% of games.
Not his main position, agreed, but he has and he can play there.

But what if he would be Dele Alli in terms of career trajectory?

And in 2 years time his star has faded?
Hate to brake it, but ONE contract with Spurs / Chelsea is enough to secure you for life if you have more than three functioning braincells.

4 year deal with "just" 50 kpw brings you in 10,4 million.

Sweating around for 2,5 kpw is not quite comparable (nor is 2 y conract left with other quoted salary of 10 kpw).

You're talking about 3rd place options here; not operating with a 14 man squad.

LFWD: Son > Rich > Perisic.
LWB: Perisic > Sess > Davies

R-FWD: Kulu > Lucas > ????
RWB: Doh > Emerson > Spence

The aim is to end up with the most improved squad we can get to within the constraints of available players etc

So yes we could play Richarlison in a position which is clearly his 3rd choice, but that's not a great solution.

Moura is a mix between a striker and winger - but the key issue is his lack of productivity in terms of assists and goals. No comparison with Kulusevski so he's not really a viable back, imo he's the 6th choice forward simply because we cannot change out everyone in a single window.

So what we want is someone with a lot better goal involvements (especially assists) who is happy to play RW as Kulusevski rotation option to improve the squad - and become our 5th rated forward.

Of the candidates being bandied round atm Malinovsky, looks like the best choice in terms of g/a - not fantastic but not bad. Very happy if we can improve on him though

Apparently Conte doesn't have an issue with playing Docherty at LWB too.
Some players are versatile.

That's if Perisic and Sess are both unavailable for the role.

2 players per position. Of course the more flexible/versatile players are at playing in multiple positions the easier it is for Conte.

So Davies and Lenglet as LCB.

Persic and Sessegnon as LWB

Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Moura - 5 players for 3 positions is one short.

There are many other players we should be looking at to replace Gil. If we can’t find the perfect one to spend a big fee on then a loan for the Atalanta guy would make sense, similar to how we failed on Bastoni and brought Lenglet instead. We shouldn’t spend big just for the sake of it.

We're not going to get the Atalanta guy on loan. He has one year left on his contract.
