Mate; stop searching for the hot-take and have a word with yourself.

Kane > Antonio

Lucas v ???
Gil v ???
I said already we have better attackers in our starting XI.

Was specifically referring to our bench options.

We have 4 quality attackers but then a massive drop off to Lucas & Gil.
They have Paqueta and Fornals who are attacking players. You also missed Cornet.

They're all good players, few would dispute that. But with Romero (and Lenglet) out of the side our buildup is just not near the required level. Those back three see so much of the ball, and so far this season they've been nowhere near good enough with it.

Whilst not 'hollywood', I think Davies has been linking up just fine with Peri & Son on his side.

I've quite clearly responded to what you said about depth.

If you wanna swap our best 6 attackers for theirs; you're nuts.

If all you're quibling about is that Lucas & Gil aren't better than Paqueta & Cornet then meh..... Is that really even a point there worth making.

Yes there is a point worth making.

Our bench options should be considerably better than West Ham. Especially this season with such a congested fixture list due to World Cup.

Lucas and Gil/James are utter shit as 5th/6th choice attackers when you consider we have no attacking midfielders!

Not when you consider that we already have 4 players that out-rank anything they have.......

The notion of considering so-called depth in isolation from the overall pool of attacking players at their disposal is more than a bit gymnastic. Could we do with upgrading Gil and rendering Lucas 6th; sure.... But the manner in which you're trying to frame all this is bat-shit.

To push on from top 4, we need to have both a better first XI and multiple better bench options than a top 8 team like West Ham.

We have a serious issue which you seem to be in denial about…
Let me put it this way-

One of our front 4 gets injured. Let’s say Kulu.

We start 343 with Rich Kane Son as a front 3. We go 1-0 down. Who can we bring off the bench to help get us back in the game??

How the fuck am I in denial??? I said I'd be happy to upgrade Lucas and knock him down the pecking order.....

Your chat about WH is bollocks; that's all.

Today was the perfect time to get Lenglet a run out for me.

Starting to look like he'll only get played if Davies is injured, which might cause issues as it'll be baptism by fire

Can't judge on West Ham game as haven't seen it all yet, but I didn't like his game vs Forrest or Chelsea. Been good for us the last year, but he really doesn't offer much variety in his passing.

Fair, but I just don't agree with the approach of lumping all 3 CBs in together as if their weaknesses are all the same (not just your post, granted) and that they're all performing to the same level.... They're not.

Ben is prepared to push fwd when the space is there, releases his surrounding players and doesn't dawdle in getting the odd cross in.

Dav is just not that confident on the ball..... We know this.

Dier can do better with the ball than he has been.

.....Too many loose long balls from the latter 2 tonight.

Exactly- his link up play is fine but he can't hit a pinpoint ball over the top. Lenglet has shown the ability to do that. We need goals and so need to be courageous in looking for ways to improve our offensive game.
