5 games into the season and the board will have a decision to make today.
To challenge for the title, we'd need Kane and Son playing at peak form for much of the season. First impressions are not encouraging.
With the money being spent by Chelsea and United and the rumoured incomings to Liverpool they need to decide if this is yet another season where 'top 4' is our ambition.
Sure, we have improved our squad on last season - but that was a season what Kane and Son injury free; and on form. We didn't deserve top 4 then; and with the improvements made by the likes of Woolwich and United, things could go south quickly.
We clearly need a top goal threat who can play in wide positions (when we play a front 3) and a midfield creator (when we play a front 2)

What I absolutely DON'T WANT is Conte left playing some shitty passive-aggressive "I told you so" game with Levy and Paratici, refusing to play young talent- even as subs- and effectively shrinking our squad because they aren't quite as good as he would like.
I know we've had a very tough start (that I think we've capably handled) but am worried that we haven't seen any of Gil, Sarr or Tangy yet. From this I do get the sense that Conte would be disappointed if this remains the final tally of new signings.
This is exactly why we bought Richarlison- Conte just hasn't started him yet. The midfield creator bit we can only hope happens as it's questionable how much Conte trusts Gil or Lucas.

Top four is our ambition beyond that can't see it.
Always is with Levy and Enic. They clearly have no ambition to challenge that title
If Spurs had any ambition today, they would pull out all the stops to get Wilfred Zaha. We all know realistically it will just be a scramble all day at loaning Dan James. An absolute joke really.
We will be lucky to get that I don't think we are signing anyone which is a mistake because the team looks flat and uninspiring and boring to watch

Of course they do, but it cannot be done overnight. There is no point spending 200m to go from 4th to 2nd.
City are arguably the best team in the world; and have just improved with Haaland.

The ambition at the moment is top four and a trophy. If we're in the title hunt come mid-Jan then perhaps we'd try and pull off a signing or two then. Our major business for the summer is done.
I'm happy with the business done, but frustrated that we couldn't get one more CB and an AM in. Also frustrated that we've had to loan out so many players. Nobody wants to buy the fuckers.

Agreed , looking like even if we have title ambitions City with Haaland will be on another level sadly .
Hopefully we are still working in the background for Malinovskyi. Although, that makes way too much sense, so expecting us to get Dan James instead...

We have a good squad and its about Conte using it effectively, which is always related to trust.
I don't think Conte is playing games with Levy and Paraticu as opposed to maybe not yet having the complete confidence in the options.
For now we are doing okay.
conte has said that to reach the top teams we need 2 market sessions
he has been very clear, we can't reach them now but next year, after winter-summer sessions of market, it could be possible
I live out in Hertfordshire and my missus works at Watford A&E. she said a couple of locals said Sarr could be off to Spurs. Not heard that rumour and apologies if it’s already out there
